I just got word back from Gabriel that the director chose my car to use in the Valvoline TV Commercial. They both fell in love with the engine compartment since that will be the main shot of the commercial.
Friday, May 11th is the time of the shooting. I'll keep you all posted.

Whats up RandysWay! Hey just a little heads-up make sure you get all the details on how they're going to use your car (NO STUNT DRIVING or BACKGROUND NON-UNION ACTORS) I work for the entertainment industry (Transportation Local 399) and i would hate to hear/see your ride get F'd up. GOOD LUCK and one more note stay with your car if possible and dont be afraid to ask questions!

I sure do. Click here (http://www.lxforums.com/board/showthread.php?t=59291) for the thread.. feel free to reply and bump it back up if you wish. I'm painting a few other small pieces in the engine compartment right now before the shoot. I'll post new pictures of it soon.

Congrats dude, well deserved. Your engine bay is beatiful and very photogenic.
Yes be sure to stay with the car if you can. I have rented some vehicles for movie shoots---but only ones where minor damage could be tolerated.
Things can and do happen at shoots; the creative people there are likely not car people -- so you need to be around, but not in their way.
side story: One of the car wranglers I use told me about a chevy commercial a few years back. Well without telling anybody the director (who showed up 2hrs late) had the actor start drumming on the roof of the cars with wooden drumsticks! $75k damage to a mint '69 Z28. (car had to be stripped and repainted -- the owner would not stand for anything less).
And when you go there be prepared to sit and wait a lot. Hurry up and wait is std procedure.

Wow, what an experience! I went to Malibu on Wednesday, which was Tech Day, and was there for a few hours for they could figure out how to set up the shot with my car. Friday was the big day where they filmed all of the shots. I couldn't believe the amount of crews that was there to make a thirty second commercial. They rented the house for the main shoot and another house down the road just for the crew parking and the lunch wagon; this yard had a huge horse coral and it was completely packed with cars. Gabriel meant it when he said that they served good food; huge breakfast burritos for breakfast and a big plate of prime rib, fish, mashed potatoes and anything else you can think of for lunch.
They ended up pouring their Valvoline MaxLife Oil through my motor; I must have gotten a 24+ quart flush! Afterwards, they refilled it with fresh Royal Purple 5W-20 and and then gave me a nice 12 Quart Case of Royal Purple 5W-20 as a "thank you." Can't beat that!
Unfortunately, there were two incidents; one was when they were putting the go-jacks on all four tires to get the car into the garage (I couldn't make the turn due to all of the equipment and such parallel from the garage doors) and one of the crew was in a rush and jumped on the jack while a bolt was wedged against my Cragar 610C rim.. well, it took a chunk out of the outer lip. The second incident was actor error; the actor who was pouring in the oil kept slamming down the quarts of the oil onto my stainless steel radiator panel and made some nasty scratches/gouges.
Afterwards, the car was rolled out into the sun; one look and "no problem.. we will replace them." I should be receiving reimbursement checks tomorrow. Look for a Cragar 610C rim mounted on a wall as a prop in some commercial in the future. Very stand up company as well as Gabriel from Mr. Vintage Machine (http://www.mistervintagemachine.com) for taking care of everything!
Would I do it again? Yes, in a heartbeat.
I will post some pictures later!

Did they take any still for Magazine ads?
Also wonder why they would be putting MAXLIFE in a newer car when it marketed for cars with 75Kmiles?? I would think that the SynPower would have been a better choice.
