So here's what I got....

Bought a used 05 RT in Jan. I was the 2nd owner, as the 1st was a leaser who turned it in. No big deal.

Found out about the 70,000 powertrain warranty deal for $150 AFTER I bought it, as I didn't learn about it until visiting the forums here.

Did some more research, and found that since I was the 2nd owner, I should have been offered the deal at purchase and only had 30 days to do so after the fact.

Contacted DCX to complain that I got 'cheated' because my dealer didn't offer it to me at purchase, and had to find out on my own that it even existed in the 1st place, not something DCX wanted to happily tell me about.

Now, 4 months later, they tell me there is nothing they can do about it and I am outta luck on the extra warranty.

SO, what do I do now? Anyone have an address they use to contact DCX when they get the run around? I tried calling the dealer back, and they told me there was nothing they could do about it, just, sorry bout that.

Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

I would say get the dealership gen mgr to fess up & support your contact w/ DCX. I would hope that they would both be reasonable.

I just did this exact same thing last week. I sold my '05 to a friend and I had to go to the dealer in person to do the $150 transfer. There was only 1 person there that knew anything about it and most of the salespeople and finance people did not have a clue that it was even an option for the 05's (the only year it was an option).

It is possible that your dealer did not know about the available transfer. However, they should stand behind you in contacting DCX to get it taken care of.

Tell them they can have their F'ing car back or they can make it right (your dealership). If they still stick, bluff a lawyer, or if you have a friend that is, have them make two phone calls. One when the dealership is closed to leave a message, and one a couple days later when the GM is there.

Ignorance is no excuse. If they won't make it right, threaten to give the car back.
