Hey all,
Just installed my new wheels. They are American Racing Torq Thrust M Anthracite wheels. 20" x 8.5 and Avon 245/45-20 tires from www.tirerack.com. I ordered them last Wednesday at 4:30 CDT, and had them in hand Friday morning by 9:30...regular service FedEx ground. Tire Rack is fast.
I detail painted the rotor hubs and the brake calipers silver. I'm happy with that look for now. The handling is much improved, with no loss in comfort.

Those look great! Good choice. Are you planning on keeping those on year round or are you keeping your stockers for winter? Also, did you put them on yourself or take them somewhere?

I got a set of those too, but in black, from tirerack also!
They are great wheels! The loss of sidewall from the stocker tires results in easier burnouts, too!
Lookin' good..I get a lot of comments on mine, they really set the car off, IMO.

Very nice. I've got the black versions myself. It's a classic old school look to be sure.

I considered the argent finish myself but decided black on black was the way to go.
Looks great on a silver car though! Oldschool as hell!

Outstanding choice and a great look. They just look perfect to me. Every time I see a set of these, I miss my R/T. Too bad they don't clear the Brembo calipers.....

Thx for the comments. I'm planning on running the stockers in winter. Yes, I did install them myself. Needed to take the time to detail the paint on the rotor hub and brake caliper. Joe

The Inferno Magnum RT was my first one I bought new in August 04. It was purchased as my wife's car to drive. The wife still has the Magnum, though I no longer have the wife. :) It's OK...I just got my own. Haven't updated the avitar. Joe

Every time I look at American Torque Thrust wheels I get closer to "old schooling" mine.
Thinking of getting the matte center and having them painted Silver Steel to match the body.

By chance did you happen to put those things on a scale before you mounted them? I'm curious as to what they weigh.

JHS. I didn't weigh them. From an earlier thread on this topic it looks like the wheel/tire combo was 62lbs, with the Avon tire spec'd at 31lbs. So 31lbs seems like a close estimate. Joe

I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on a set of these for my Magnum. I assume there is no issue putting the factory tire pressure sensors in there, right?

Shouldn't be. I just left mine in and had new ones installed for ~$40 a piece and sold the old ones on the wheels. If you're looking to sell your old wheels with decent rubber on them it might not be worth it to have them unmounted/remounted/rebalanced just to reuse the old sensors.

Looking at buying the same rims for my 07 Charger. I really like the old school look. They look great on the Magnum BTW!
Is anyone running these with 255/40R20 or better? I don't think it should be a problem, but the retailer is suggesting a 245/40R20 instead. I am considering the 255's because they are cheaper and have a better tire life. More money in my pocket is a good thing :thumbs_u:

That's the size I have on mine and I know a lot of other people are running them too. No worries.

will they clear with a spacer? or is it just not going to clear no matter what?

I'm pretty sure they'll fit with a 3MM spacer, but didn't want to go there. We probably need a Guinea pig to try this Care to volunteer????

I am on my way to have a photoshop session with a custom car shop in about an hour, I will have them p/s these on to my rides. Is it just the front that hit? or is it both ends?
thanks,

I saw those the other day on a Mustang GT and they really looked awesome. They did have 10's in the rear and I think that would really be the dream setup for me.

on the way to the shop I saw three mustangs with this style wheel. Is that a stock style for the mustang?

I'm anxious to see these 20's on a Charger with a set of these 275/40-20 redlines!...

So I went ahead and bought the Torq Thrust M's last night in Anthracite. The hard part is the month wait because they are on backorder.
You sure do see a lot of those style rims on the Mustangs, but they are going to look much better on the Charger :thumbs_u:. I'll post some pics when they finally show up!
Seeing those old red line makes me feel old. Perhaps a little too old school for me... lol

What color Charger will these be going on? And are you ordering from Tire Rack or somewhere else?

They are going on a Silver Steel Charger. I am getting them from TireTrends in Canada. I didn't want to have to deal with UPS, duties, brokerage fees, exchange rate.. by buying from the US through TireRack. I ordered something from the US once and UPS and Customs killed me with all the above (UPS charged more than they had originally quoted!).
I figured I would probably save less than $100 by going with TireRack and for that $100, the headaches weren't worth going across the border.
