I have to get this out as I have had enough! I ordered this last winter my new wheels from my local tire dealer. I had them order me the MHT LLC Black. I really liked the wheel but not the price. I ordered 22x9 for the front and 22x10.5 for the rear. MHT took there time making them for me. They are a 3 peice forged with the center painted black. The best price I could find for them was on the internet for $1150 or $1175 each. My dealer could not match that price but was close at $1250. After coming to terms that you were going to drop a small fortune just for wheels I got excited to get them here.

The Spring Fling was approaching fast and we were on the phone alot with MHT trying to find out where the wheels were. We got the run around. They finally came in as we told them we were cancelling the order if I did not have them for the Spring FLing. They came in on the Wed. I was leaving town to head south to Portland, oregon to meet up with the convoy at 6am. Some buddies and myself were waiting when Mr. UPS man showed up with the wheels. We opened the first box and the wheel had a lot of bubbles in the paint. We looked closer and there was alot of dirt in the paint. The color sanding from MHT left alot of scratches as well. We were not impressed. We opened up the second box and the wheel had a huge machine gouge in it that painted over. Yes, there was these bubble again. It turns out that all 4 wheels had dirt in the paint and alot of scratches.

We called MHT right away. They said that this is the best they can do and we would have to live with it. They actually went as far to say that these were custom painted at a shop and that is why they would all turn out that way.If we ordered a different set they would turn out the same. I would think a company that sells the amount of wheels and wheels that cost this much would show more concern about the paint jobs. There is no customer service from MHT. They told the tire store I was being to picky. The tire store told them no, the wheels look like crap. MHT said they would replace the wheel with the gouge in it but not the others.

The tire store said I could run them to the Spring Fling and when I returned we pulled them off. MHT now said they would pay some of the money to get them repainted here in my town. I am not excited about having to have them repainted myself. I was billed for these at the end of Feb. Again, MHT says they do not care about that. I would warn all of you to think before buying MHT wheels. I am sure there are alot of you that have them and they turned out great. I am happy for you. I am not happy that MHT will not do anything about these wheels that look like crap.

Sorry for the long thread but had to vent on this.

Bryan,

We talked about these way back when you ordered them, and as I remember I was a day late and a dollar short so to speak on getting your order. Being that the centers are a bolt on you can take them apart and ship them to me. I would be more then happy to try to help you anyways I can. PM me so we can talk about it.

I had a bad experience with them too they sold me wheels that would not fit my Magnum after assuring me they were made to fit this kind of car specifically. The experience so put my wife off Foose wheels that she will not watch Overhauling anymore.

we have a pretty good relationship with them as well. last month we spent a little over $20,000 on just one wheel style in one size. so maybe if we all put a little pressure on them we can force their hand. after all with out their buyers like us and 402 and other MHT product sellers they'd have no hooks in the water. We have had a couple of small problems that they have always handled for us. I cant see why they would make such a stink over repainting some wheels. we out source some of our custom painted wheels and its really not that expensive and for a company of their size they should be dialed in on pricing with who ever they are sourcing it to. in fact whoever it is should handle no charge just to keep MHTs business. Seems like MHT just doesnt want to go to bat for you. let me know if i can help.

Thanks guys. I will get some pics posted tomorrow. I need to go to the tire dealers to get some more shots. I was shocked as well at this. I was the most shocked at the fact MHT says this is the best they put out. I am sure if all of there wheels were to come out like this they would have been out of bussiness a long time ago. MHT wants me to repaint them, the tire dealer I puchased them at will not take them apart to paint as there corporate office will not allow that because of the liability. The body shop says they do not want to take them apart for the same reason.

I am trying to figure this out as I love the style of wheel and it fits the car great. I do not like that there is this much hassle especially for the price. I told my dealer today that I wanted a full refund or I would be done with them forever. I do alot of wheels and tires as I buy and sell alot of cars each year and fix them up. My cousin also owns a large Mazda dealership and they would loose that business. I hate being that way but I am fed up with the whole thing and the fact MHT plain just does not care. I would like to see about the black viper wheels. Are those in yet?
