I WANT IT NOW!!!!! :D

Well I just got back to a computer and am reporting.

Showed up at the lot at 11am and they were just rolling out a 300c FROM the back lot. Informed the salesmen that I was just there for a test drive of the 300c and was not buying now. He offered me a test drive and off we went.

Acceleration - I have been driving a Dodge Intrepid with the 2.7 and CAI and thought it had good acceleration for its size and engine. Broke the Tires loose at least 3 times in the 300c but only for a split second before the ESP kicked in. This was brought on by my first dislike of the car, my intrepid there is some resistance to the gas pedal and you have to push to get it to move, 300c gas pedal was like a wet noodle. The first time I touched the pedal it went all the way to the floor, tires broken loose but only briefly then ESP kicked in. Very smooth transmission even under full power freeway merging. The 0-60 is all they have been advertising. Disappointed in the engine noise. No growl while accelerating inside the car.

Handling - We went INTO some of the hilly roads behind the dealer and I am amazed. Stiff suspension feel without any pounding FROM the numerous bumps and holes in the road, no baby buggy feel even though a very smooth ride. Never any understeer and the ESP never kicked in thought I took some corners way to fast. Very quite ride compared to Intrepid

Interior - Very rooming with good visibility, was less visibility then my Intrepid but still good. Specifications say slightly less shoulder room then the Intrepid but felt like more when in the car. Defiantly higher sitting position and much easier to enter and exit vehicle. Power telescoping and tilt steering wheel retracts all the way when car is off and returns to last adjusted position when car is started. Power adjust pedals did the same thing.

Lets see some more reviews.

I finally went and looked at a 300C today. I didn't get to drive it though. It was already sold. I'll start with the only gripe I have. I felt the leather was cheap feeling. It was that thinner type leather. Not the same quality as say a BMW, MB, or my Land Rover. Other than that everything else was excellent. All of the buttons, switches, knobs, etc. were all high quality and pleasing to the touch. On par with some of the up scale Europeans. Well until I actually drive one, that's my take. Anyone else feel the same about the leather? Maybe I just prefer the more rugged feeling leather.

I've always thought BMW leather looked cheap, so it would have to be really bad for me to notice....

I test drove a 300 Touring model as the only 300C was in the showroom during the premiere night event. The V6 is plenty powerful and the car is nice and smooth and quiet. I can't wait to drive the HEMI. The sales guy said comeback tomorrow for a drive. I may do just that. 8)

99300m, did you go to Haynes or Whitten?

I test drove both the Limited and the C at Whitten, both nice cars, but that 5.7L in that car is just amazing.

*edit* If you go to Whitten, you have to see a salesman named "Baseball" - nicest guy you'll ever meet!

I went to Whitten and drove the Limited. I may go back and drive the HEMI today. I talked to Jim Benson, another very nice guy. Didn't see anyone named Baseball.

His real name is Larry Cup(p?). His nickname is Baseball, well, because he KNOWS baseball stats and history (just try him, I have, he blew me outta the water!).

I went back again and test drove the HEMI. I was a very nice and exhillarating ride. I'm in love. I will purchase one very soon. Will probably have to ORDER one. No one in town has a loaded Black one.

E8502 - Where did you drive one last night? I drove the manager's white 300C at Herb Chambers (the one with all the golf clubs in the trunk:-))

Great power, nice solid feel, quality workmanship throughout.

Can't wait to get to compare the Magnum RT!!

Wow, I was there too, I probably walked right by you!! What time were you there??

I drove the Jade one there, but went to look at the white one out back to see the HID's with washers. Nice to see that car didn't have the front plate bracket. The white looked great, but did you see all those bugs on the front bumper?!?! :o
