To all Centex LX's

A friend and I are trying to get a carclub together. Would any of you have an interest? This would include anybody from Waco/Temple/Killeen all the way to San Marcos. I am going to try to put a website together in the next month or 2. Please feel free to add any and all comments or suggestions.

I have been waiting for someone to do this. I have tried to cruise in on a few car club things here in austin but most are about lowriders except austin area stangs. Lowriders are not really my scene. Will it be LX only?

Yes, chargers, magnums, and 300's. It should be a lot of fun. If enough people join we may be able to get sponsorships from local shops.

I think moparman53 is heading to the drag strip soon. I am planning on going out there also. Im not much of a racer but I like to go. Maybe we could get together out there. It is kind of far but just a suggestion.

He is going to Little River on the 20th. I'm gonna go hows about anyone else? This would be a cool M&G/club kickoff if we get a lot of people to go.

You can go up 35 and take a country road to 95 in holland or go through Taylor and go north on 95 through granger bartlett and holland. If you need specific directions let me know and I will get the exit numbers or we could meet somewhere and caravan. We don't need to decide now but I will more than likely be going. I have a couple other people (non-LXers) who go with me so it wouldn't be a big deal to caravan. I am very familiar with the area up there so let me know if you have any questions.

I raced there a few times over 30 years ago. I ran my '68 Dodge Coronet R/T with a 440. A few years later, I ran a '73 Plymouth Duster 340.

Let's have our first meeting at the track next Friday, April 20, 2007. It's $5 to get in and another $10 to run. It's 9 miles south of Temple on SH95.

Hey Moparman - I had a 68 Coronet that I put a 383 and a 4 speed in, painted it it Lipstick Red and painted the Black Super Bee stripe on,also put an origonal 69 1/2 fiberglass lift-off 6 pack hood on her. Was a nice car until I got married.
I also had a 73 340/auto Duster too, man that was a fast ride.
Bad think is I was young and dumb and never raced them at a drag strip. We had a couple places we street raced around here.

Sorry for the hijack guys.

Hey guys, the site is up but a lot of work needs to be done on it. Check out the layout and give me any suggestions you can. This is my fist foray into webdesign so please be patient with me.

If I still lived in Killeen I would for sure , but alas we've relocated several times since then.

My dad was stationed at Ft. Hood , we lived in Pershing Park. Before that we were in Copperas Cove.

GO KANGAROOS !!

You're kidding right? That's fairly amazing we had the same year cars. My R/T was an ugly green with the 727 auto and 3.90 rear end and posi. The Duster was "Speeding ticket Red". It had a 4 speed and posi. Until I got the new RT, I'd never been pulled over so much in 1 vehicle.

This sounds good but do we need another forum, knowledge base or classified area? We can just point folks to LXForums for other details. Maybe just focus on more of the Cen Tx events and a gallery.

You should open it up to anything with a HEMI. There are a ton of HEMI truck guys around here too.

Good point. A Texas Hemi club would be cool, too.

i was only thinking of the classifieds and forums because that stuff would directly apply to us and with the for sale/trade/ wanted ads it would save everybody on shipping costs... since everyone is within 2-3 hours of eachother

I have taken your suggestions and removed most of the forums, but i left the powerplant sections. This is kinda fun guys, i hope we can get this kicked into high gear soon.
