I think Waco is an excellent location. I don't know that much about it except Dr. Pepper was first served here in a drugstore. There's a Texas Ranger Museum and a good zoo in Cameron Park. The Baylor Bears Women's Basketball team were National Champs last year. IH35 runs right through it.

I might be able to swing that. Baylor football is playing at TCU that weekend so hotel rooms shouldn't be terribly hard to find.

That is opening weekend for college football though and it's like crack to me, so I likely wouldn't be able to make it if they plan on holding the M&G that Saturday.

Why not do it in Austin? Only a 3hr drive from Houston and DFW(Driving the speed limit) We could take over Lime Creek road or hang out at the lake. Take over a mall parking lot or something. Highland mall doesn't have JCpennys any more so thats empty all the time. Just a suggestion. Post this up to charger forums if one of you could please.

Everyone over on CF has pretty much agreed that it wold be a Cental location for almost everyone. I'm not saying that Waco is better than Austin B/C we all no thats not even the issue it's just about location location location. Hear! Hear! I totally agree with you. Waco is a great choice, not because it's a cooler place than Austin. We all know that would be hard to swallow, but because it's more centrally located.

....Waco is a great idea....but what about a location that has a nearby drag strip?

http://www.staginglight.com/links/trackfinder.html#TX

Just a thought....I put about 35K miles on my car a year...location doesn't matter to me but a little Drag Racing would be fun to go along with a M&G and Car Show, like the SE Shindig I drove 800 miles to go to last year and this year too.

OK guyz we've kinda changed locations for the better. We were thinking of doing it in Temple,Tx. @ http://www.templeraceway.com/ (http://www.templeraceway.com/) which is about 30-40 min. south of waco.
I called them yesterday. Ok Kirk told me that on labor day wkend they normally have their HD shootout all wkend...Thurs-Sun. He was saying that if we wanted to run in our own bracket he could prolly fit us in for $20 a car. I told him I wasn't sure how many car would show but it would be around 10-20, maybe even more. He said normally they rent the track out to clubs for the day and it's around $1200 but since they were having that HD shoot out and I wasn't sure if our dates were flexable he would do us a favor.

So what do you guys think?

We could still do the M&G in Waco then transit to Temple or relocate the M&G in the parking loty of the Track which was fine with Kirk?

LETS MAKE THIS THING HUGE! I'll tlak to kirk @ the track and see if we can bring a BBQ pit and have a real party! We just need to get someone who lives close to bring their pit unless ya'll just wanna fin for urself. I'd like to have a BBQ pit there so we can have a lobor day party. Any suggestions?

Temple sounds like a good place to relocate the M&G to. From google: Map From most major Texas Cities to Temple. Ok guyz I have some bad news. I called Kirk on the way home from work just to make sure it's a go b/c of the interested LXers. He told me that that sunday there was no way he could get us in now. H edid however say that anyother sunday would work.

So these is our options since I feel everyone really was diggin the track type M&G:

A: Relocate to another track somewhere along I35, and keep the same date. I think there is one in San Antonio, DFW area, Houston, if you know of anyother please let me know so I can get this setup ASAP if this is waht ya'll want to do.

B:Change the date and still have it @Temple Track. IF this is what you want It would most likly be held on SAT so fri, and sun would be travel days. If this is what you want at least think of a month to do it.

C: Keep the date and the Waco location and not do the Track thing.

I'm doing my best guyz so hopfully we have a huge bash that day! Work w/me.

I think Temple is still a good location and we could pick another date, I think this would also allow us to reserve the track for the date and have a more MOPAR/Charger focused event. I believe that if we get the word out and charged a small cover like 20 bucks or so we could easily have over 100 cars show up allowing us to rent out the track and maybe have a little car show and such. If we could generate the interest I am willing to be we could find some area dealers to sponsor the event.

I'm game with that for sure. I can call him back and ask, but if we wanted the whole track for ourself it would be $1100 for the whole day. Which isn't bad at all for the amount of car that would be there. Or we could just pay the $20 a car and have other people there as well. I say we rent the track for ourselves.

I'd rather run against other cars as well. He also said that we need a helmet if our car runs below 13.5 sec. He said that they have a few up their to rent us if needed. That is why I am trying to get a car club going in the centex area. Most of us here don't mind racing or just watching and hanging out. The idea for racing it seems was to add some punch to the all tex M&G. At least with a club the whole group knows whats going on and all can decide on one or more things. Waco still sounds good to me but the racing would have added some excitement.

I agree. Also, I am only about an hr south of you. I'm down for a car club :thumbs_u: :hammer:

I'm game for a car club. I live in Corpus but attend most M&G's that are w/in a 3hr drive.

Hey gang, is this M&G still on? Sandi reminded me of it and I didn't know. If yes, make some noise. :)

If not, how about making the Austin Sept 15th M&G the "All Texas" meet.
Check this one out...

This one bit the dust as far as I know, but not 100% sure. There hasn't been any more talk of it for some time, but I'll ping Jason and find out.

Yeah! What Red said, unless my 22nd wedding anniversary comes into play, I'll be there as long as I'm not threatened with it being my last.
