I originally had thoughts of just sending DMAG a message that said :
"So Long and Thanks for all the fish" and "42"
But I didn't think that would really be fair to those the have contributed to these forums and to those that voted for me, so I came up with the following.
First off I have to say thank you to the people that voted for me, it's very humbling to see that kind of support. We had a an excellent turn out of voters to a very solid group of candidates that were every bit as worthy for LXOM and their time will come.
As for some of my background, what a long strange road it has been,
One of my first memories is of being at my dads shop while he was doing some side work on VW's, and in order to keep me from under foot, I was given some basic tools and told take that (pointing to a VW Beetle) apart. A few hours later there was a mostly stripped VW and a very puzzled father.
Over the years I was in and out of the shop doing porter work, helping dad do body repair and learning some of the basics. Rebuild a totaled 80's Thunderbird, then a 79 Chevy Nova 4 door that I started drag racing at the local 1/8 mile tracks and once I learned how to race the car proved to be a money maker. At this time I started turning wrenches on the 86-90 5.0l Mustangs and the 86-88 Camaros and was doing a little bit of street racing. That ended when I found out that in Virginia there are only 5 things that can get your personal property seized, four are drug related and the 5th is Street Racing, two buddies got thier cars jacked and we start racing all the time at the track where it belongs. Live and learn :D

Work changed and I got away from racing and working on cars for a while, playing and traveling a lot for paintball for the next 10 years. This allowed me to do a lot of traveling but actually seeing almost nothing.

I totaled my Jeep Cherokee in a snow storm, so I picked up another Jeep and was never quite happy with it. At this point I started to look for a new car, Test drove STi's, A6's, GTO and a few friends cars, then I drove a buddies 300c and I really liked it. I have always like wagons and I recalled the Motor Trend article on the Prototype car with a strong Hemi V8 and a really kick ass look. I went to the dealer and started looking real hard at them.
Ouch

The 2nd Jeep started to die and was unsafe to drive without a lot of work, I started a hunt for an MSRT8 this was late July early Aug 05 and SRT8's were as rare as hens teeth. So sucking it up a bit, I gave the dealer my list of options I wanted on the R/T. The deal found the car in Mt Airy MD.
I took delivery 8/20/05 and the first mod was done 8/23 with the pulling the dealer stickers and 05 Hemi Badges and the mods have not stopped in all that time.

When people ask me about this forum it's very hard to describe to them other than its just an awesome collection of people, and to kind of hammer that point home I would like to remind people of this thread Hammerfest (http://www.lxforums.com/board/showthread.php?t=20168) THAT is what this place is about, or maybe this oneA call to Action !! (http://www.lxforums.com/board/showthread.php?t=30489)
I would like to thank the chat room crowd : BBH, Hemi31, RA, HemiWomen, ChargerGirl, Chasb, BigBob, Dano, Lafrad, Leadfootluke, Twisties, WiiMan, FnkyChkn, My_Hemi and everyone that jumps into the chat room to hang out, BS, talk about the days events.
