I have not heard a bad thing about this car yet, I'm thinking that this might just be Chrysler's next PT. :D

Pretty good review. Hopefully they will continue their postive remarks as they test drive the car through their tracks and long term. Hope you guys all get the hemi. Regardless what this article says, the 3.5 250 hp was not all that great of a motor, speed wise that is. We all know that the RT 3.5 took a long time to get up to speed.
I appreciate the power and torque with my GTP as youwill with the hemi. Definitely a more than noticeable improvement.

Read the dinet forum and you will find that anybody with the 3.5 were complaining about low end torque and looking for any means to get it faster. Rice and so many other carskilled it off the line, easily but later on, the 3.5 did fine. Me, I would rather have low end speed than top end. Not too many speed on the street at 135+mph. From 45mph on, the car moved however once u move on, to say, the hemi magnum or 300, or the gtp as i did, you will realize how much power it didn't have. Sorry, my opinion, and others.

I have the 250HP 3.5L in my Pacifica. It works fine for me. If I want more, I kick the autostick in gear. :lol:
It is a very heavy vehicle but runs and handles great. IF you are looking for a hot rod, the Pacifica is not for you. I would imagine that the 2.7 L V-6 Magnum is going to be a slug, but maybe some who only want the LOOK AT ME style of the Magnum will be happy with it. I hope so.

The autostick did (does) not get it going any faster. It only allows you to decide when the gearing changes. Stomping on the gas pedal would do the same as you using your autostick. If you think otherwise, you're dreamin.

I think you misunderstood me. I have been around vehicles a FEW years and I do know how they work. I was talking about -for example -coming off the line, the auto stick will keep me in lower gears longer WITHOUT having to STOMP the gas. I didn't mean that it would GIVE ME more power when I was moving.
That is what I meant when I said : If you want a HOT ROD , the PACIFICA is not for you.

I agree with DSMLVR on the subject of power - THE PACIFICA IS NOT A HOT ROD - and I think most buyers will not be looking for tons of power when the purchase a Pacifica. When I test drove one, I found it to be miles above any past Chrysler in most areas (Crossfire was awsome too). If I needed the room, I think the Pacifica would be my first choice. After all, It's well beyond the SUV.

Danny, I just reread my answer and I kind of came off as a jerk. I appologize for that.

I LOVE my Pacifica. I am 58 years old and have had and worked on vehicle from back in the 40's and I have to say that this is the BEST vehicle Chrysler has made ever made. (Well, I do/did love the old Chrylser 300's and the 69 Plymouth GTX I used to have). :roll:
Sitting in it and just looking around it, it is unlike any Chrylser ever made. I could not believe I was in a Chrylser product. I don't want to belittle Chrylser's. I am 30 years retired Chrysler and I worked as a vehicle inspector for almost 20 years of that. THEN you take it for a drive and you are SOLD. I never saw myself getting a vehicle such as this. I traded in my 1995 Eagle Talon ( I bought new in Oct.94) for this,so you can see that I do know what performance is . I know that the Talon and the Pacifica are completely different, but WOW.
DRIVE IT AND YOU WILL BUY IT.

At least we are in the same generation. 48 here. Glad you like the Pacifica. It is a handsome car. I don't see a lot of them here for whatever reason however I did drive in one and they are smooth and roomy. Initially, they were quite expensive but they seemed to chop a few things off and bring the price down so we should start seeing more of them.
Not my style of car. My wife has a Jeep Liberty Sport 4X4 so there was no need for a duplicate of sort. I prefer mid-large size sedans with gusto, hence my ex Trep RT and now, GTP Comp G. My lease was up and couldn't wait for the 300 Hemi. I think thats the only way to go and those large rear tires, rwd and gas consumption are the three evils when living in Canada.

18 or 19 or larger tires don't do well in snow, and we get lots of it. Gas is expensive, averaging $3.00/gallon regular and the rwd, I don't know. Whether myth or not, I'd rather have FWD in snow. Remember, we used to put sand bags in the trunk to weigh down the rear wheels. BMW's are in the body shops all winter long for veering off the roads, getting stuck in snow and whatever. The jury is not out yet and until they decide that the rwd works in winter, I'll stick with FWD.
Did you get the in-dash navigation system with your Pacifica? What a neat idea to place it in the speedo.

That's why I'm a little nervous. RWD in the snow is not the best (we've hashed this one out tons of times over at Allpar), especially with big tires. Since my wife will be driving the 300C to the news studio near Boston every day (about 38 miles from here, Worcester) she's just a little concerned about the snow situation. She is originally from Texas so she's not one for driving in the snow, and I don't think RWD will help. We get a good amount of snow here, and not to mention Worcester is built on steep hills. Granted the LHS is horrible in the snow, I'm thinking I should have waited till the AWD 300C this fall. Worst case, we'll keep the LHS here until we see how much worse the 300C is. Or she could take the Sebring (very good in the snow) or my Dakota and I'll manage the C (I won’t object to that option :D ).

Mine was in the close to 40 range because I got the AWD , with the Sunroof, HID headlights,NAVIGATOR ( I love it in the dash like it is) , Full size spare tire, and super Infinity Stereo. I love the size of it. It is MUCH BIGGER then the Magnum is. It is only 1/2" narrower then the Full Size Dodge Ram pickup.
We have a 2001 Grand Caravan Sport (wife's) and I never saw myself getting this Pacifica. BUT I drove it and that was it. I have had it in snow and it does super.
Not even 1800 miles on it yet, got it Dec. 5th.

That equates to $54,000.00 CDN. Expensive, isn't it? Add about $10,000 to the price of avergae cars and you get our pricing. If the Magnum HEMI is $34000.00 US fully loaded, $44,000.00 CDN. When the CDN$ was .65 American, I saw why. Now the CDN$ is .76 US and the retails haven't changed. Somebody somewhere is making money off the exchange.

I know that the sticker price of a loaded Pacifica was $54,000.00. I saw them at the dealer when brought my Trep in for service.
