Anyone else had issues with Cragar rims showing signs of rust under the chrome? Two of my 6 month old rims have at least three spots of rust (bubbling) where the spokes meet the actual rim. I do live in Washington but have kept them spotless after driving on the wet roads, also I called DOT and was told that salt is not used to deice the roads, rather a metel friendly fluid. Does anyone think I would be wasting my time sending a letter to Cragar? I love the rims but for $2400, I would expect better. I will post pics when the sun comes up tomorrow.

that is a very common problem with chrome plated aluminum, not just 610Cs

Thanks for the heads up. That being said, my show truck has aluminum and has zero rust on them and they are 2 years old (Mulanni's)

They should be in warranty. I don't have any problems with my 610C's, knock on wood. You mentioned you paid $2400 for the wheels.. seriously? I paid $300.00 for each rim.

hey randy, isnt this your car? http://www.cragarwheel.com/catalog_pg2.html

it looks like they photochopped the spoiler off, but the reflactions in the paint and the lighting looks exactly like your sig pic....

I would send them a letter. What damage could it do?

Yeah. First time I saw that picture.. no idea why they chopped the front and rear spoilers out, what a sad cropping job! I'm also on their website (here (http://www.cragarwheel.com/photogallery.html)) as well as around a half dozen magazines for Cragar.. fortunately, unchopped.

Tell them in lieu of royalties for all the pics, you just want your wheels replaced.

Ya, and I also have the slow car of the two

I will call Cragar on Tuesday and see if anything can be done, if not I will smile and press on (only I really know it is there) :racing:

Just an update to this issue. I sent an email to Cragar just asking about the bubbles, a week later I got an email asking me to fax a copy of the receipt so I sent it. Low and behold four brand new wheels showed up at my door step two weeks after that with a call tag to send the others back for evaluation. Now thats customer service if I ever saw it!!

More companies, especially those in the auto industry, should treat customers like this. Very refreshing and encouraging to read this post!:thumbs_u:
