Well, I was tinting my taillights last week and since I took them off the car, I put some plastic bags (black plastic bags, the kind you put on your big trash can) in place of the taillights just to prevent water to get into the trunk if it rained.
It did rain that night and when I went to install my taillights I noticed that one of the bags had left some black big stain on the bumper. (my car is white so this was VERY noticeable)
I thought that it was something that I could simply remove by washing the car but I was wrong!!! It didn’t come off with the regular car shampoo and water. My second try was waxing it (regular wax) and this didn’t work as well.
I really don’t have a lot of car care products at home, the only thing I had at that time was some ScratchX that I was planning to use on my old Jetta. I did give it a try and it finally removed the black stain! Wow, I felt relieved after seeing it disappear!!
The bad news is that this morning I noticed that the stain is still there!!!! It is just like if the stcratchX have just removed the black pigment of the stain but if you look at the car from an angle it still seems like something hazy where the stain was.
I really don’t know how to describe this in a better manner and I don’t think that a picture will actually show the problem on my bumper. I mean if you look at it while standing near the car is not noticeable, is not black at all but if you stand at some distance and look it from an angle you can still see where the stain was before.
I don’t want to damage my paint more than it is right now so I wanted to ask for your advice guys. What do you recommend? Should I go and try some more scratchX or do you suggest any other product that could fix this problem?
Thanks!
