This is limited to 30 members so don't wait till the last minute. I have attended this class in the past and it's outstanding. You will have a true understanding of what the detailing process is, check out products and have hands on training. It is more than just wash and apply some wax on your car.

Guys I can not stress enough how good these classes are at teaching you how to maintain and fix teh finish on your car. I was at a local class here in MD and it taught me a lot.
You will find your collection of product will go up a bit but they all have thier jobs to do.
Sign up enjoy the class bring a note book and some $$$ for product :) This is a CLASS I suggest treating is as such. I wish I could be there :/
Have fun and make sure to take lots of pictures of the car Mike uses for the test subject LOL

Seriously, if anyone wants to promote a location for a detailing class with Meguiar's, start here (http://meguiarsonline.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=65), and stay on it. Persistence is the key. Meguiar's will schedule a RoadShow (http://meguiarsonline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11722) class if there is enough interest.

O.K.
I haven't been around here much, most don't know me at all, and i'm about to be the "bad guy" on this thread  but please understand, its meant as my personal OPINION and not a knock, or flame in the least towards others. :friday:
Guys, a CLASS for detailing? now look, with two car dealerships in my family, and numerous friends that own body shops, i will agree that "detailing" a car is indeed more than just "water and wax"...but a class to teach you how? to DETAIL? this is insanity gone mad.
This is NOT rocket science folks, actually, its NOTHING more than effort, a "few" (thats all you need) solid products, and some needed knowledge...with the HUGE emphasis on effort! The products, tools, and the such that are perpetrated on the masses, are to a large degree, well...a scam! I've personally learned 90% of what i know about detailing my cars by simply...well, detailing my cars :thumbs_u:
Sure, i studied advice, researched, talked to people, tried TONS of differentiating products, and tools...but ultimately, its all about the passion and love you have for your ride. TIME is the essential ingrediant in this area IMO there is NO magic...the rest of the "detailing" secrets are basically (sorry if this offends) propaganda, and marketing.
"Professional" detailers come by my uncles dealerships often, for YEARS they would inform people that "professional detail products are 1 of a kind, and not for mass market distribution"...ohhhhhkaaaaaay...so i would to ask: "really? that doesn't make much sense from a business position, let alone flying in the face of capitalism" ...they use to just shrug and say "its true" uh huh, sure dude.
My points here are that personal experience and practice, will make you FAR more apt in "showcar" detailing, than any class that teaches you how, will ever do. Do you need a class to tie your shoes? add to that, there are TONS of mass market products that do every bit as good a job of detailing your car, as ANY "professional" products ever will, fact!
anyhoo...again, no offense, but i am an opinionated dude...but you will find that I really try to be a contributor as well...cheers :friday:

Well, the class is free, gets us together, talks about the history of their company, and lets us borrow the eye of someone who has done the work with an R&D budget behind them to evaluate our rides, the special requirements that may or may not be needed, and lets us practice in a supervised format.
I was given a PC dual action buffer for christmas, yet I've never used one. Before I put that wheel to my car, I want to know how to use it, and how to use it right. When I've done my ride by hand, I've gotten a few minor swirls, and over time I've had a couple light scratches, and I'd like to see how to deal with that.
Shoelaces? They were taught in my preschool, so technically yes, I needed a class.
They also throw in lunch and a danish, hey, not a bad deal for 8 hrs of my time with friends.
What I have seen from professional detailers is they know what to use and when to make the car look great, fast. I still have trouble getting wax out of all the little places. I've also used meguires stuff since I was washing cars and boats in my first job, so theirs an added incentive in that I'd like to hear about their history.
I take no offense here, but from my side of the bookend, it looks like a fun day of friends, polish, and learning. Can never learn enough in my opinion.

On a side note... While watching barrett Jackson on TV I noticed they had a black Magnum in their booth they were showcasing their products on. Maybe Barrys a fellow LX'r?!

Excellent counter post :i2: there is much you wrote that i agree with, especially when dealing in orbital buffers, or sander/polishing wheels.
cheers...
oh, btw...my mommy taught me how to tie my laces...you needed a CLASS for that?... ;)

I've detailed all the cars I own myself. I'm really looking forward to this "class" for more reasons then just learning how to wax my car. I've never used a buffer on my car and wouldn't mind some advice from the people that do this for a living.
The other reason is the fun I have hanging out with others that have the same interests as me. What the hell else do I have to do on a Saturday morning. The wife works and I sit around the house in my PJ's till noon anyway.
Now they're even gonna feed me for free, what more can you ask for. Yea I know, I wouldn't mind the women in Disavowed's avatar waxing my car and sitting back drinking a beer and having a burger but lets get real.
Plain and simple, this is just another excuse for a bunch of car guys to get together and shoot the sh1t together and enjoy the day somewhere other then the local hooters or burger joint.
See ya there everybody!
