Hello Gang,

I have heard from an old colleague of mine that I used to work with. I have known this person for 13 years. Her name is Jennifer and we have been good friends ever since. We lost contact over the last several years, but last week we tracked each other down. I know she doesn't have an LX based vehicle, but from re-establishing contact, she can't wait to see the car. We lost contact due to moves, job changes and such, biut I am happy that we are in contact again. We have so much in common. She was one of my first colleagues that I worked with when I started working where I am now.

When we met we were both working for the same department (Patron Services) for the racetrack that I work for. She and I had a great time working together and when our jobs were eliminated back in the first year of my employment, we remained good friends and remained in contact after we went our separate ways. I am still working there, and will celebrate my 14th anniversary with the company and our friendship in April of '07. I started working there when I was 21 and she was 16. I had started working with her mom at first and then she introduced me to her daughter, who needed a part time job during the summer while she was still in high school.

She is currently a teacher working for a charter school. She is teaching Spanish and French to grades K-8.

We are hoping to get together over the holidays to catch up on things!

That's cool, it's great to hook up with old friends.

One of the service advisors at Eastway, I last saw in Grade 8! That's a "Not seen in 35 years" which is pretty wild. When she started talking about her grand kids, I started feeling old all of a sudden!

I have to ask...it's killin me. Is there a little something more 'special' about meeting up with this old friend than you're saying? I hope all goes well and you enjoy your time together.

Now that you've posted about it you have to keep us updated.

For you to tell us all about her, there must be something special about her, so forgive me for my following tone:

She's not getting any younger and your not getting any skinnier. Don't let her get away again! No pussy footing around about how we are going to try and get together for the holidays. DON'T THINK ABOUT IT, JUST DO IT. The question to her is; are you coming to my place or am I coming over to yours?

I am really happy for you for getting this opportunity. Good luck! We are all pulling for you & look forward to you posting the pics of your engagement party.

There's no better time of year than the holidays to rekindle old friendships ( or romances for that matter)

Good luck Brian

Hello Gang,

Just to keep everyone posted, we finalized our reunion meeting. We are going out to dinner at one of our favorite restaurants-Applebee's. I can't wait!

Good to hear, now do you have a plan set for after applebees?

Imagine everything goes great at dinner, maybe even better than expected .......... what's next when the bill comes?

Don't be coming back to this forum and telling us "everything was fantastic, we're going to do it again sometime".

This may be your last opportunity with her. No holds barred. I am not saying that you have to plug her (although that would be good) but you need to have a plan as to where you can bring her to be alone afterwards. To....... you know, talk.......or whatever comes naturally.

Hello Gang,

Just getting back in from the best reunion ever. We had a great meal and just took time to sit and talk about our lives. She had apologized profusely for losing contact with me over the years and we both promised each other that the communication would not be broken. She looks about the same to me as she always did, (A little bit older, and still beautiful to me!) We are just taking it easy for the time being, don't want to rush and wreck a good thing between us.

I don't have any pictures downloaded or recent of her to show the group, but I will say that she is a little bit shorter than I am (I'm 5'6 and she is about 5'3", maybe a little bit shorter. and has auburn hair and hazel eyes. Cute face and smile that can light up a room. She has a good sense of humor and is very compassionate and caring..

I do have a picture of her on my desk that was taken back on my 22nd birthday, when she had come over to help celebrate when I was younger. She was 17 at the time.

All in all a very good time tonight...I am thankful that everything went well.

I'll keep everyone posted here, as to what happens next.....

Congratulations on your good reunion! You probably hate me by now but I am going to give it to you straight:

1) "We had a great meal and just took time to sit and talk about our lives." You earn an A+ Here.
2) "we both promised each other that the communication would not be broken" What does this mean, this sounds like you don't plan on getting together again anytime soon. WHEN IS THE NEXT DATE?
3) "We are just taking it easy for the time being, don't want to rush and wreck a good thing between us. " You have known her for 13 years! You have a picture on your desk from 12 years ago & I bet it has been on your desk for 12 years. I don't see a heck of a lot of rushing here. So, WHEN IS THE NEXT DATE?
4) "and has auburn hair and hazel eyes. Cute face and smile that can light up a room. She has a good sense of humor and is very compassionate and caring.." I am pretty sure you like her! Unless one of you is already involved, what are you doing? Assuming that she is available now, don't you think someone else could easily come along that feels about her the same way you do? How many more years are you going to stare at that picture on your desk and wonder, what if? So, WHEN IS THE NEXT DATE?
5) I've been married ten years and have 2 little awesome boys. Where are you going to be in regards to your relationship to her in ten years? Are you going to be posting "had another great reunion with her. she's married now and has kids but we're still friends" or will you be posting "after 13 years I finally made my move & we've been together ever since!". Tell me, How is this story going to end?

Hello Gang....

It seems that a few people want an update...So without further ado-

We are still together, we see each other and talk to each other constantly (Daily, as a matter of fact) . Due to our work schedules it can be a little bit tricky to set things up, but that is OK with both of us, but we both manage to make alot of adjustments to see each other. Sometimes the spur of the moment get togethers are the best. Since she is a teacher, sometimes we have off the same times of the year, and so a better chance to see and do things together.

If everything goes well this summer, (work schedules at play here) we hope to get the chance to get away together for a few days. She had mentioned to me the other day about taking a trip down to the DC/Alexandria area. Another place that we had talked about visiting over the years was Disney in Florida. (We have one of the "Walk around the World" bricks that were offered there)

No kids yet. (Not in any rush here) for those who were thinking...Just enjoying the company of each other is the best thing in the world, and taking our time enjoying ourselves is the greatest feeling for both of us.

Last week, we went out for breakfast and ran a few errands together. (We ran into each other later that day at the local Best Buy, of all places.) I had wanted to go over to Best Buy to get ink cartridges for the printer, pulled into the parking lot and happened to see her car in the lot. I ended up surprising her by calling her on the phone and finding her in the store. We both laughed that we had ended up in the same place together after having breakfast and going our separate ways, and meeting up again that afternoon.

I have done alot for her over the years, and to me, she is the greatest person in the world. She has had some health concerns in recent years, and I will always stick by her in support if she needs it. I won't go into the health concerns, they are minor, but I will say that pregnancy is not one of them.

To all the members who remembered this thread started a few years ago, thanks for remembering the original post!

I will keep everyone updated..Hopefully more to come soon!

Sincerely,

Brian
