so there i was , rushing over to dodge dealer to pay for and get my order in for my cat backs for my sxt magnum, i went 2 weeks earlier spent 45 mins, getting the part# 82209611 and price of $700.00 for the complete mopar/borla kit. i start work at 9, and the dealer opens only from 8-5, i work 9-5.

well i get there and i left his buss. card at home.. but i saw the same guy, this time he gives me the same# part but tells me its $1100. and it takes 3 weeks to get in from USA. ^$&$&$& , he was stead fast standing firm on his price.

needless to say i was pissed... this is the month i can get this mod done, and i got holidays starting this thrusday and the dealer can do the install so when i go for a road trip i would enjoy my new joy.. i now foudn the buss card and i was right. but the attitude i got i really don't want to go back there.

can anyone give me suggestions?? i live in vancouver. anyone know of any delaers that will send this at $700 or cheaper? or is there another choice i can go with.

Help

Order a system from one of our vendors here. I suggest Zoomers exhaust or Borla... they seem to really bring out the beast in the Hemi.

There is also a SICK new SLP system (search for "SLP exhaust to find the thread with sound clip) and it is the hands down best sounding of them all.

I would be upset too! But it sounds like you have a few options for a lot less $$ now.

When I decided to go with the Borla system, my first call was to the 5-Star dealer where I bought the car. I had some money to spend, and I figured they could install it for me, no worries. Well, my dealer's parts guy wouldn't quote me on the Borla system for my SXT because he believed "you gotta have a hemi to get dual exhaust". I even gave him the part number, but it was like talking to a brick. So I got it from Mopar Super Center (group buy $349 US), put it in myself in my driveway.

Seriously, you should order from Adam at Eastway! He will treat you right and I bet he can get it to you FAST. Catback install is a joke... Especially if your ride is still relatively new.. an exhaust shop should be able to install it in VERY little time.

You can probably have it delivered for 625 and installed for less than 75.. total cost would be 700 still. :)

Adam....

This leads me to ask the question (because i am curious) This is a complete dual cat-back system? If its Borla, why on their site is it almost $1200 US?? I know theres mark-up, but my god!!

What is different in the Mopar/Borla system verse the real Borla system? I need to understand this pricing difference.
Heck even Dyno-max dual system (the best price i found) was $679.00 CDN

Did a search on the part number... ok this doesnt seem like a true dual exhaust from the cats back. It appears its a 'Y' pipe to a single front muffler then another 'Y' pipe to dual pipes to 2 saddle bag mufflers.
Now that would explain the price. Would rather get a real dual system if i'm going to go that route

No it's not a true dual exhaust.. most v6's suffer from serious drone if you run straight from the cats.. this is like was described above.. the y- is part of the muffler, then exits like the factory RT exhaust.

If you're looking for a local dealer I'd try the one in Langley, honestly I haven't been there but another member recommended them as the best locally for service/parts. Have you thought about putting on a stock RT system, I've seen a few members selling them.

Thanks Adam for taking the time to correct/advise about this. I understand the drone portion, but to be honest most would want the true dual exhaust for the car to breath less restricted. IMO would it not be a more restrictive system than whats currently on the car, since your adding extra bends into the system?
I dont know as the drone is so much an issue (if it is then you have the wrong mufflers installed) we're all looking for a throater rumble and there are sacrifices that have to be made someplace along the line to get that. I guess, its more saving of cash for me to get a true dual system. Nice price though on your system. Now that clears up the mystery on the pricing ....whew..

You're not adding extra bends to the SXT system with the mopar/borla. Sounds like Adam has an attractive price. I know that system has been on GB here before in the $350-$400 range (US funds).

Technically you are... its similar in concept to SXT Exhaust (http://www.magnaflow.com/07techtips/pdfs/16936.pdf) after the second (rear) 'Y' pipe, when comparing it to a true dual system which is straighter, from front to rear. The flow would be better with a dual system.
Might as well cheat and hang a fake tip on the drivers side ....hehehehe

If shipping/brokerage fees wouldnt kill us up here.. i strongly suggest Zoomers.. MooNDoGGie has them... awesome sound!!!

Another thing to keep in mind if you go to a true dual system (which IMO will not improve performance on the SXT) is the extra cost for mounting brackets of about $60, and the nearly $200 for the drivers side heat shield. You can have a custom exhaust installed for the price of those two items alone...

Well again.. there are other options available... many people run without the heat shield. I have talked with a muffler shop here (national chain) and he didnt see any problem not having the heat shield there.
Then also based on the theory of no improvement then why bothere with going dual at all esp if your stock exhaust is good... your still talking a large expense for???? nothing really ... IMO
