I did an oil change and I purposely left the level at 6 qts when I refilled so I would be in the lower safe range. I didn't want to over fill and I knew as soon as the car was off ramps I would fill to the middle safe (to prevent a false reading). Well I started up, rolled off the ramps, flipped the car around so it would be thr right way, backed in my driveway and the motor cut out. Of course all of this happens when a sudden torrential downpour starts. Engine light on..etc,. I shut down. The rain stopslater, I top it up and the car seems fine. Is this a safety feature? Just curious. Also on a side note, i went to full synth on my R/T. If I do o/c's ever 4500 or so miles (based on my driving)do you guys use the chevron techron every 3k still or just wait till 4500 or so? Premium filters can go the distance too right? Lastly... since I do extended o/c's is there a time frame limitation for synth oils? (you know how dino oils are 3k/3,000 miles?)

I use Mobil 1 Sythetic and can go about 7000k between oil changes, but after 8000k or so I have noticed that MDS no longer functions.... at 7000k the oil is darker than new but doesn't seem to affect performance... I also use High Performance Fram Filter X2..... which states you can get up to 7000k if using Sythetic oil between changes....

(FYI I do a lot of highway driving, 50 - 75 miles a day)

Hmmmmm ok!
I don't know if I could go that far w/o an o/c but I believe that it can go pretty far vs. dino.
