This is my first post in this section, so obviously suspension is not my thing. Your advice is appreciated. I have an eibach prokit on the way, that I had planned to install on my Mag RT, but now I got offered a KW V2 kit in a trade. The KW kit is missing the shocks, so I would have to get new ones.
I'm mostly looking to lower my Mag while keeping the ride as smooth as possible. Improved handling is a bonus, but not my number one reason for the suspension upgrade.
I might use the eibachs and take the V2's to sell them. What could I expect to get for these? What shocks should I get for them?
How much improvement will the V2's give me over the eibach springs?
Thanks guys, much appreciated.

Find out if you can even get the KW shocks seperate. If you can go with the V2's.

I'll check. Do I have to go with the KW shocks or would another shock work/be better?

They are definitely available, but i'm not sure of the cost yet. Thanks for your help thus far.

Go with the KW's.The V2's are adjustable so you'll want a matched set.The Eibach's with Eibach Dampers are very good,I had them myself. But if I could get an adjustable setup for a trade....definately V2's

By "without the shocks" does that mean "without the two rear shocks"? as in the front coilovers and the rear springs are included? That won't be cheap.
BUT... KW's are light years ahead of Eibachs. Especially since the Eibachs will eventually kill the stock shocks, and you'll have to go get a new set eventually; sometimes pretty soon (depends on your driving style).
Not sure where you would only get a rear pair of any shock. Can't be cheap.

I'm pretty sure that they have everything but the actual dampener. If that makes sense at all? So all 4 suspension units, but no shocks on any of them.
Like I said, I'm a newbie to suspension.

RobIf that's the case keep the Eibachs and get a set of Eibach Dampers. You'll be very happy and it will cost you waaaay less.

Well, the fronts are integrated coilovers. So there are no 'shocks' on the front, so to speak. A coilover is kind of a shock and a spring built into a single unit. Not something you can separate.
So if someone told you that a set of V2's was "missing the shocks" then strictly speaking that should mean the front coilovers are intact and the rear springs are there. But the rear shocks are missing.
A set of Eibachs plus a set of dampers is about what you'd pay for any set of coilovers you can find. KW V1's, Eibach Pro Street S and so on... although the new ST's that just came out are cheaper if you buy them on the HHP group buy. Think this one thru.
As Hemi31 suggests, if this set is missing too much don't screw with it. Let your wallet be the decider there. Look at the cost of a set of Eibach dampers, plus the springs, and decide that way.

I just installed the prokit about a month ago. It is a pretty harsh ride and I am pretty sure I will need the dampers soon. Dunno if the RTs have better stock shocks than the SXT though. probably

Good advice. If I let me wallet be my guide, what would a set of KW V2's sell for if they were slightly used? I can't seem to find any used ones for sale anywhere to get a price.
I can sell the pro kit springs for about $150, I already have those on the way.
If I take the Kw V2's on a trade, figure they cost me the same as the eibachs. I'll have to get new dampers for either set, so it will basically come down the resale value of each and how much the dampers cost me.
hmmm...am I correct to assume that the KW V2's will offer better performance than the eibach pro springs with eibach shocks?

I would get the guy to be REAL REAL clear as to WHAT EXACTLY you're getting..........I read it to mean you're getting 4 coil-over springs with no shocks / struts........thats worthless. The Eibach springs / struts are reportedly kick @$$.

Hey ROB, the Eibachs are nice. I am selling a pair, only thing like others have said is you will need new Shocks... aka dampeners.. The ride is lower than an SRT and corners nice but man the bumps hurt with stock Shocks. U can probably do a cheaper deal with getting used Eibachs and new dampeners than getting KW stuff. I''l check on the Shocks for Eibachs and post follow up. HHP has them listed for $659.00 http://estore.websitepros.com/802805/Categories.bok?category=Dodge+MAGNUM%3ASuspension (http://estore.websitepros.com/802805/Categories.bok?category=Dodge+MAGNUM%3ASuspension) Summit has them for $699 http://store.summitracing.com/egnsearch.asp?Ntt=2873840&searchinresults=false&Ntk=KeywordSearch&DDS=1&N=700+400280+115&x=39&y=8 (http://store.summitracing.com/egnsearch.asp?Ntt=2873840&searchinresults=false&Ntk=KeywordSearch&DDS=1&N=700+400280+115&x=39&y=8)
You can probably get them cheaper from HHP just give Josh or Electrofied a call. Hope this helps.

The Eibach Dampers will run about $600.A used set of KW's will run $800-$1000.If you already have the Springs I'd just order the Eibachs.

If you already have the Springs I'd just order the Eibachs. And remember that the Eibach dampers are made by KW. They are basically a KW V1 thats not all stainless, from what I have heard.
Robbyho, you said you are requesting more info via PM. If that means this is an internet deal and you are not personally, directly aware of all the circumstances surrounding this, I would be really leery of this. If you already have a new set of springs, get a new set of dampers to go with it and call it all good.

Jason (electrofied) is HHP! I had no idea, that is awesome. He was the first one to take a risk on my sub enclosures. I'll defintely talk to him. I haven't seen him on the forums in ages though, I hope everything is still good with him.
Matt, this is an internet deal, but I have done business with him before and I have little to worry about with it all be honest and legit, etc. I think I will take the trade and get both sets in front of me and then decide. I'll sell whichever one I don't use. I want to take the trade because I can make a mold of what I am making for him and then I will have a new and great product to sell. It's a secret until it is done though, so don't even ask :Na_Na_Na_Na:.
I appreciate all the help. Ya got any questions about audio, don't hesitate to ask.

HHP is also running a group buy on ST Coilover packages. The list price is $1039 and the GB price is much better than that. Check with them on that.

Hold on a minute guys. I bought the Eibach pro kit and all I got was 4 springs. You have to use a spring compressor to remove your stock springs from the stock strut on the front. I was lucky a buddy of mine had one. You remove the strut and spring as a unit and then disassemble.
CAUTION: If you don't have a spring compressor get a professional to do it. I've heard it's pretty dangerous.
I didn't do the back cus I just wanted to drop the front so I really can't comment on the back proceedure.

Ya got any questions about audio, don't hesitate to ask.Since my stereo is stock and I am running out of things to modify everywhere else (or I will be after the helicopter turbine is installed) I just may hit you up on that. Will eventually be looking for a nice surround-style sound system that looks stock or close, and can bump out some more power. AC/DC doesn't even sound loud unless I pump up midrange and treble all the way

You can rent the spring compressor from most auto parts stores for free...

...I bought the Eibach pro kit and all I got was 4 springs. The Pro-kit has 4 springs. The Eibach dampers are the two front struts and the two rear shocks. All "coilover" kits are complete suspension replacements, replacing springs AND shocks.
I've heard it's pretty dangerous. It can be if your spring breaks out of the compressor; say if you crank it down too tight; and maybe you send compressor pieces and spring flying. When I did mine we needed a compressor on the back to try and undo some stuff and the compressor bolt's threads siezed. So the thing had to be cut out. Was very un-fun.
