Just wondering???

Would the 2001 CORVETTE AUTOMATIC just kill the HEMI? or would it not be that bad?

by the way this:hammer: <<< Is a CRACK UP! LMAO

I would say the vette would win mainly because, being lighter and gearing. and vette has more top end not the 128 limit. but it would be fun eaither way. RUN EM !!!

Take a look at aerodynamics as well...the LX`s are like pushing a 2`X 4` sheet of plywood through the air, compared to the vette.
I echo.....It should be fun!

I took him off the line as he spun his wheels but then he over took me and got me by a coupole of lengths

350HP and torque in the vette and about 700 lbs or so lighter

Horsepower to weight ratio is better for the Vette. Hopefully the Vette will just do a big tire spin off the line, giving the Hemi any hope.

Hi,

MT and CD both tested the 2001 six speed Vette and it ran 13.1 at 110 in the quarter. The automatic would be a couple of tenths slower. The Vette has bigger rear tires than you do, and carries 51% of its weight on the rear wheels. It has 10 more HP than a stock 300C and 600 lbs less weight. Ultimately, it comes down to driver skill, but unless you are the more skillful driver, you will get beat. For $200 bucks, you should take as much of a head start as you can get

PhilWhat Phil said. And do get the JBA headers & exhaust setup on there first. (I wouldn't advertise it to him - I just wouldn't be ready till then.)

Additionally, race or no race you'll need a good air intake system to feed that opened up exhaust system. There's no finer than the AirHammer. Order one of those here: http://www.lxforums.com/board/showthread.php?t=46280&highlight=airhammer
or simply PM Rev.Hammer to order it. There's quite a waiting list, so expect a 4-6 week wait, or more. Better tell your buddy to plan on the race after the first of the year to give yourself time.

Practice your launches on deserted streets or back alleys. Find your best launch tire pressure. Start with 26 psi. For the race bump your fronts to 55 psi.

PM me as the race approaches, if you'd like, and we'll review everything.

For a little inspiration, here's a recent run by my fairly-well modded '05 C vs. a new 'Vette, most likely stock or near-stock. Not sure 'cause I never saw him again that night  (1700' DA): www.simeklive.com/forumpics/300c.wmv
