soap and water probably the safest, but you could try goof off or something like that.

But does it help before the fact???

Might help, but then I'm like Hemi31, it's a badge of honor to me, having a nice thick layer or Atlanta Dragway starting line goo stuck to the inner wheel wells and lower fenders.

Makes the rocks just bounce off too...

If anyone is interested in driving extra, I have extra room(s) - Commerce is like 2 hours from here. Not luxurious, more like Bears With Furniture, but warm-n-dry.

Yep - I'll be down there alright!! You may need to give me a half length though, since I don't think I can beat your reaction times...

Hey now - none of the "Pinks" stuff here - this is gonna be full out bracket racing - so if you call the class below the one I do, you -will- get a headstart, but reaction times are what's gonna be the deciding factor.

I can beat an SRT8, and have, 50% of the time so far - their car can beat mine, but I can beat the other driver - sometimes :-)

This is going to a good time!

I'm looking forward to it - which, to get back on subject, is why I'm interested in finding the best way to get the rubber off the fender. I'm thinking a liberal application of Pledge should keep it slippery enough to wipe it off afterwards. I was thinking WD40 also, but not sure what that may do to the paint.....

For the racecar we use Mean Green degreaser/cleaner. Find it at our Family Dollar store around here. Armoring the inside plastic pieces might help that come off easier. Works great on the rims and tires too.

I had to use elbow grease and a clay bar.

if you get to the rubber quick enough.. it should come off with water and just using your hand... it should just squeegee right off...

If you know you are going to do it,planned event, tape the lip,:bling:

or spray a non stick cooking spray on the effected areas before!

Or leave it for a don't mess with me statement!:racing:

Lighter fluid works good for me.. then a liberal coating of PAM to keep it from happening!

when I was @ an NHRA event I happend to catch one of Forces's guys cleaning the body. He was using a mixture of Windex and spray wax (maybe Turtle wax). I believe the ratio was 50/50. I asked him what he was using because I could smell the windex. His response was the windex cleans the rubber off and the wax will stay on and leave shiny. It was shiny and slippery. maybe try it? I have not tried it.
I don't leave enough rubber on the car...and I have mudguards:mrgreen:

How about going to a car store and get a real product designed to remove tar? I got one bottle before, because of some new road that put tar on my car and it removed it safely and quickly.

I found goof-off was the only thing that easily took it off the painted bodywork. Of course it takes the wax off too...

Why would you dream of removing it? Or is that a veiled attempt at boasting?

if you have a good sealer on the paint it should just come off with the pressure wash. To keep it from sticking next time, try a light coat of vaseline. It will pick up more than just the rubber but it all just wipes off.

That is what I used with a power washer.
Funny how I now think twice before laying it :magburno: down...
