So I show up at the Avis lot at DFW and find my name. The stall with my name on it has a very nice 300 "Touring" model sitting there. I'm thinking how cool is this?. I pull out of DFW heading west on 183. Lots of heavy traffic so I did not get to compare the (I'm assuming) 3.5 to my 5.7. Anyway I'm in the middle lane, stop and go, but wait....no go from me. Just freakin dies. Full tank of gas, normal temp gauge, nothing out of the ordinary.
Put on the hazards. Put it in P try to restart. Starts dies. BY this time everyone behind me is honking. I'm sure they were thinking just some dork that ran out of gas. I'm thinking...time to push? Get is started sort of, running bad, put it back in D and it dies. After about 3 tries I finally got it running long enough to get it off the road. I call Avis. They show up with another 300 and away I go. The exact quote from the guy that delivered the replacement was "pretty weird huh".

Oh well...time to go check out how the 3.5 crowd lives.

yes modless for now!...this site is expensive. it has me thinking all kinds of mod fantasies. most comon fantasy for now is suspension....hmmmm coil overs and bars...uh got to go

back to my bad experience. I wish I had not been in such a hurry yesterday. It would be interesting to know what happened. I doubt the Avis check in person will be much help when I drop this one off. I will try to talk to the emergency road side guy and see if he knows what happened. thinking back...it almost reminded me of bad gas or sugar in the tank or something. I did not notice the engine light before it went bad but I wasn't looking for it either so it might have been there.
