View Full Version : When is it going to get here!?!?
Am I the only one who checks the tracking number more than LXForums when you're waiting for something to come? And do you think about taking work off for the day it is supposed to arrive?
I just want to see if I'm alone or not on this one.

Oh yeah..I do it. Either take off the whole day or at least part of the day. Been missing a lot of work in the last month since I have owned my Mag. LOL

I've been lucky and haven't had to work yet on delivery dates, but I might take this one off, or at least take a really long lunch.

So I'm sitting here reading this thread thinking "oh, that's soooo me!" I've got tracking open in another window while checking out this thread.
I sat up last night watching the tracking, waiting for those new headers to hit town. I go to bed dreaming of the Fed-Ex man like "Santas comin' tommorrow!" This morning I jump out of bed, scantily clothed I run downstairs to the computer. "On delivery truck". I can't go to work today. I need a day off somtime, don't I?
So as I'm reading every post, thinking "oh ya, that's me"....."I'm just like that"....."damn dog must be barking at the stray cat"...."gosh, I'm probably the worst at watching the tracking"...."uh huh, that sounds just like me"...wait a minute?...."DOG BARKING???!!!!!!!!!...My HEADERS!!!!!!!!!! Oh no, I'm reading this stupid thread and Santa is trying to deliver my headers!!! I feel like the kid from Christmas Story after being kicked down the slide, having never mentioned the BB gun.
I run up stairs hearing the distinctive rumble of the delivery truck starting up. I bust through the front door just to see Santa's sleigh pulling away. "Wait, wait, I'm here" I shout! Now, I'm a 45 year old man, 350 lbs in full gallop down the middle of the street wearing nothing but a pair of shorts chasing behind this truck. I found myself thinking the last time I did this I was 5 chasing behind the ding ding man. (maybe that's why the 350 lbs today?...hmm...)
Finally, I guess the this pathetic sight was finaly witnessed in his mirror and he stops. In an exhausted voice, I explain "Wait, you have my JBA short tube headers with the patented Firecone merge collector, 3/8" laser cut flange, and 1 3/4" 409 stainlees steel primaries." He then tells me he left them with a neighbor across the street.http://www.lxforums.com/board/images/icons/icon11.gif

^That is classic..Just the other day when my Projector Headlights were due in from the USPS driver, I found myself scouting neighborhoods, since he just left the notice about picking them up the next day. Found that dude with my lights after 30 minutes of riding around. LOL

I do the same. I have a buddy who saw that his wheels were out for delivery, so he tracked down the UPS man (small town) and begged the UPS man to follow him to his house so he could get his wheels put on.

Why can't everyone just have it delievered to WORK, instead of waiting to see if it come to the house?
