10 HP diff. in Daytona engine??

Anybody know what gives the Daytona 10 more HP than the R/T?

Freer flowing exhaust. You can get the same or better with aftermarket cat-back. Remember 10 flywheel hp is more like 8 rear wheel hp. I think some cat-backs get up to 15 rwhp.

10 HP difference @ the flywheel is 10HP @ the wheels.

It is incorrect to use a %. The drivetrain saps X amount of HP regardless of the engine HP.

The Daytona has the same intake as the SRTs and it looks like the same "suitcase/resos" albeit W 2 1/2" pipes instead of 2 3/4"

I don't know about the free flowing exhaust,looks the same.Don't think the intake is any diff.Torque is the same.Only thing I see diff, is the air cleaning housing.Maybe free flowing air filter accounts for the 10 HP?

YEP.. the intake in indeed different. In fact it is the same as he SRT stock intake.
THere is a slight difference in the fuels programming
The resonators dont have the internal baffle in'em that a standard RT does!

That's mostly right.
The trans does have an X value for rotating mass that is a constant number but there is also a Y value that increases as input power increases. The Y value is friction. Y is a small number in comparison to the X value, So you are correct that a standard % does not work when calculating flywheel HP.

The exhaust is definately different. Just listen to a stock R/T next to a Daytona.
Different exhaust sound, especially at WOT.

That's the first time I've heard those two.
I thought the High Speed Controller is simply the 145mph speed limiter. The standard RT has 128MPH speed limiter.

I have not seen anyone cut open a Daytona Resonator but the RT resonator only has 1 baffle making two chambers. I can't imagine the Daytona resonator has no baffles and is just an empty can.
There may be a difference in the length of the port tubes between chambers but I doubt it. Or did you mean the Mufflers don't have the internal baffles?

The Intake and the Muffler are the only differences that I can find.
