STAGE 3 R/T

Just a heads up the POPO are crackin down with poeple that have anything large than 2 inches that stock rims. Got a freakin ticket cause my rims are 22's stock are 18's. WTF what kind of law is that? BS! Well gotta pay a 70 dollar fine and get my RECON sticker. Now I gotta revert my air suspension back to my coilovers and go in like that to get that gay little sticker!!! FUN!!! I was on the freakin freeway headed home. Got pulled over 5 mins later by another popo and he tried to write me a ticket for the same thing...

Sounds like Big Brother is puffing his chest again! WTF is right!
I'm not sure how rim diameter can be mandated illegal and enforced in a legitimate manner. Sounds like profiling is rearing it's ugly head!

Is this really a law, HH? Can you find the RCW & post it, if you have time? I am sure SEMA would love to hear about it. Thanks!

Wow!... guess I'll never be moving to Hawaii! I'd be curious what the reasoning is behind a law like that. And, what's the problem with the air suspension? Why would that be illegal?

Dayum, now I gotta get a recon sticker!?!? Man, this sucks! I believe we have to get a recon sticker for every mod done. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I remember before if you had coilovers you won't be able to pass Recon but I don't know if they allow it now. It's going to suck if we have a M&G and there are people getting pulled over for this dumass law...!

You might have to swap out your tail lights to the stocks... Don't they check everything on your vehicle before they'll give you the recon sticker. Isn't there a fee that you have to pay for them the inspect your car also...

So JT, your sayin' if we just change our stocks to 22's they'd still check the undercarraige for loose parts in the exhaust system? Why is it so freakin' crazy down here. Just like the Safety Inspection sticker. I don't get that either.

STAGE 3 R/T
09-02-2006, 10:16 PM
they check everything. the cop that pulled me over was really really lookin at my headlights (side amber maker tinted out) and tail lights (having a mild tint on them) that and was sayin somethin about my exhaust. i assured him that they were 50 state legal for decible stuff... So i gotta call RECON get the info and see about coilovers being legit for recon inspection... IF so then I am good. I just gotta put my headlights and tail lights back to stock, take my HIDs out and i think that is it. Ohh and a few more things...

I know from Invader (this forums) told me about u need 2 inches from where the tire goes to the finder area, 12 inches from the bottom of the fog light to the ground, liscense plate has to be 22 inches (i belive) from the ground. any type of headlights (UNLESS THEY COME WITH YOUR CAR OFF THE FACTORY) LINE WILL FAIL, Taillights can't have any tint (like mine), No covers on any light or plate, NO CLUB or any other STICKERS ON REAR WINDOW (like mine).

Well peoples let the fun with recon begin!

Ohh it cost 15 dollars (check or EXACT CASH) i belive you also need to have your alignment done at least 30 days prior to recon.

yeah, alignment <30 days prior to your appointment. However, that said, if you fail first time there, you DO NOT have to get another alignment prior to your 2nd or 3rd appt. They will count the first alignment you got.

why do you think I stay out of waikiki when driving my truck? Kevin, you haven't heard the exhaust on my truck, it's LOUD!!!! don't even think it will pass for inspection, let alone trying to get a recon for it. matter of fact luckily we dont have smog test because I would definately not pass that!!!!

oh so the cops were hiding behind the pilar on ramp from the airport???? I got nabbed speeding there. alot of the laws here are BS, most of the cops here have cars that have rims ect, BUT THEY ARE ABOVE THE LAW HERE!!!!!!!!! I'm not sure coilovers are legal either, last I knew, any adjustable suspension does not pass. Maybe next M&G, if i am here, i'll drive my truck for you........

Was the Officer on a Solo-Bike? Got stopped a few weeks back for "no front plate" and got a lecture for illegal tint (told him the factory tint is illegal anyway).

What is the penalty for not having your front license plate?
And what would happen if you tint your front windows to match the back 5 windows, will they issue that person a ticket for all 7 or just the front 2?

STAGE 3 R/T

front liscense plat is like a 70 dollar fine, window tint is like 127 each window. IF i believe its over 27% or 35% not sure but they fine you for each window. DONT LET THEM GIVE YOU $HIT FOR YOUR BACK WINDOWS! Our car is an MPV...

How about if your car is registered in your legal home of record? Do you still have to have the HI inspections and conform to their equipment laws?
