Drove up to the VTR performance shop in Everett today with my son and his Subaru. Had a good time. There were 3 Magnums and one Datona Charger. It felt good to get MaggieMae out for a drive on her new air bags. So far, I'm really happy with them. Here are a few of the pictures:
A couple of the LX gang:

I had to include this one. I want everyone to note that Jason's car sits higher than an AWD!

Here's Jason showing how to wear off excess tire rubber:

Now it's the students turn to show how well he was paying attention:

So, my son and I made it home safely. I hope everyone else did as well. Thanks for inviting us Jason. Hope to see you and everyone else next Saturday!

Tell me that was NOT your sons Subaru!
Had a great time, and glad you made it all this way, it was good seeing you again. At least those pictures looked innocent ;)

No... not my son! It was one of the 500+ hp modified STI's. Really sad to see, but gave me a good opportunity to talk with my son about the proper time and place for doing "spirited" runs!
If you look closely at the picture, you can see the tracks where he left the road (right next to the pole in front of the car). It apparantly did at least one flip before landing where it did. Surprisingly, the car still started!
It was nice seeing you again as well. It was a nice drive both ways. I really enjoy getting a chance to take the Magnum on long drives.

You know me Rich, just stirring the pot, buddy....
Actually, what I cannot understand is putting that much blood, sweat & tears into a car, & then risk life, limb & your ride in an uncontrolled environment. I just thank god no innocent parties suffered any damage in this incident.

I've been reading that thread too. I've just chosen to not comment!
This was actually a very nice car. More of a sleeper than a ricer in my opinion. It does show what one moment of a lapse of judgement can do. I have no idea how fast they were going at that point, but a couple miles before this, they left my son and I in their dust. We both backed off after hitting 100 mph. The conditions just weren't right and we didn't feel comfortable maintaining that speed. I too am very glad that nobody was hurt (including the driver and his passenger). Lesson learned the hard way!

Woooaaaahhhhh! Hey guys...I had a great time at VTR! I think I may be getting a HEMI! I'm really getting sick of all these F*&kstangs and other BS vehicles on my bumper everywhere I go. I even had a damn Ford Exploder on my butt last night! I dusted him after I hit 110 in the Mag! It took every bit of that 2.7L to get her going, but I ended up leaving him about a mile or two back! Man, I tell you...the acceleration isn't that great in the 2.7, but after you get her to about 65 mph....she glides!!!Another FORD bites the dust!!!

I agree with you. It's fun to do a little run now and then but to go to a point where you can lose control in a major way is just insane. I'm glad no one got hurt in that accident. I, too, have spent too much time and energy keeping my ride clean to possibly mess it up just to prove it's fast.

Great pics. Thanks for posting them. Have any close ups of the carbon fiber trim on Jasons car?
