here is a couple videos of my in car camara mount that i made a while back the first is my first run. took it up to about 100 and backed off. looked at the video and the realized i needed it to be higher so you could see the road.
after i raised it it bounces a little need to fix that. but i made it myself so its not 100% done.

well so far all i have put on it is my sony cybershot that is a still camara that can take video. have not tryed a real video cam. it would hold it im sure but with the angle brackets i have in the middle it makes the mount a little weak.

Very ingenious. One question! How did you get a Magnum with a manual transmission?
Take the dangly crap off the mirror for the final vids!
Few thoughts come to mind, looking at that.
1) If you have to slam on the brakes that camera is going to swing around and smack you in the head.
2) If you did a mount that was supported from the passenger seat as well, it would be more stable.
3) Particle board cut like that, might decide to fall apart under load.
Cool idea... I might try something like that but use some old hockey stick handles. Bit stronger than particle board!

He shifts the same way I do most of the time, if you use the auto stick ALL the time you will get the hang of lifting a little bit when you shift. The advantages of this are quicker shifts because the computer doesn't wind you back bacause you have already done it and much better transmission life as there is no torque on it when it shifts. Learn to do it with light throttle pressure first then gradually increase it, noone will be able to tell if it is an auto or a manual.

Thanks Bigjim. I'll have to practice that in the Charger. :racing:

yeah like i said i put this up to show you what i did so you can inprove on it and as far as the danglies they are gone i didnt want them in the first place but the wife put them up. then after started doing mods she took them down. so take my idea and run with it make it better.
the first video i put it down in first and just let the computer shift. it works well.

wisconsinmagnum- you ever consider using metal instead of wood?? you should make another one and bring it with you to the 20th so I can go home and fab up a metal one for you.

I wanted to use metal but I dont have the means to fab one with what i have for tools. I am thinking of making one to go from one headrest to the other and then mount the camara in the center. Ill bring what i got made up on the 20th.

Heck all it takes is a tripod and a bungee cord. I did this vid with 2 legs in the rear drivers footwell and the 3rd on the seat. Then bungeed it to the head rest. You can see the cam lean back when WOT then forward when I take off the throttle. Next time I will put a leg in each footwell and the 3rd leg on the seat ans shoot through the windshield.
