Hey man, at least it was just the plate! I think it's $20 to get one replaced in IL... much better than if they f'd with your car itself. Still, I think you should find the little mutant and live up to your name!!!

UT,
Sorry to hear about that! It just really sucks to hear that some people would do things like this. Especially to something you take so much pride in taking care of.
Again, sorry to hear about this.

Is license plate bending a new thing? I seems like I have been seeing it more and more lately. I really just don't get it.

Knowing the literacy of some of your younger citizens he probably thought you were calling him a name with that plate. HE ARSE.
Sorry, had to go there. In reality sometimes its easier to laugh at the situation cuz there's not much the cops are gonna do about it.

Sorry to hear about that...finally a reason to keep my standard (non-vanity) plates...hope they can be replaced easily though...I believe in NY all you have to do is request a new one due to damage...hate when this kinda stuff happens though...heres what happened to mine a while back ----> LINK (http://www.lxforums.com/board/showthread.php?t=13543)

Unfortunately, the police will not fingerprint a car for a vandalism case. Usually, fingerprinting is used for violent felony cases. The police do not have the time or resources for a...excuse the bluntness...minor misdemeanor.
I know this is your car and you want the knuckleheads caught and hung by their toes and fed Ex-lax. But realistically, the police will not be able to do anything. The best thing is to file a counter report with the police and document the incident. If they have other cases and catch the perp, then they can add your incident and you might be able to recieve restitution from the knucklehead.
Good luck.

My poor mag stays home, I take the bus/plane/train back and forth from school and home...This happened out on Long Island about a year ago, not in Boston...In fact, the mag hasnt even been to Boston yet
I still refuse to bring it to campus...All the door dings and garage "knocks" I would get
NO WAYYY
Thats pretty good you had the extra plate though. Just make sure you keep the other one too, cause when you go to surrender them the DMV writes 1 or 2 plates returned on the insurance slip (at least in NY they do).

I feel your pain. When I was stationed in Scotland in the late 80's, my Volvo 754 Turbo was molested twice. The first time some a$$hat cracked the windshield at the lower right hand side (as you're looking at it from the front). The second, some big-footed bastard climbed up the back and walked across it; left scratches on the roof and a dent on the hood.
