If your schedule is open next Friday plan a trip to Ennis Texas Motorplex (Quarter Mile Track).

The track opens at 6:00pm, closes at 11:45.

Right now a few of us are going to see and run the cars. It's "Fast Friday" when they open the track to street cars. Come on out and enjoy.

Never been to Ennis so this will be fun. I missed out on their Harley drags a couple weeks ago, would have loved to see that!

It should be fun running and watching the street machines. Worked it out w/the X so I'll have the kiddo that weekend.

Had to check the weekend weather report before posting up. Looks like 80's high and cloudy, should make for a good "Sinko De Mayo" evening :mrgreen:

I'm getting ready, before taking the kido to school and heading to work I installed the 180 tstat. This evening will clean the K&N filter and cinch up a small rattle in the exhaust.

Went to the Texas Motorplex, it was a perfect evening and a good showing of people there. It's a little over an hour away from North DFW. Very professional setup and rightfully so since the run NHRA Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock, Alcohol Dragster and Alcohol Funny Cars there.

Got through inspections and right as I was next to stage up on the track, blood was just starting to boil, they pulled me because I had shorts on, damn professionals :grin: LOL. Probably in my best interest. Guess it's like if something did happen it's better to go fully dressed :roll:

The evening wasn't for not. Met some great people and got to see some nice and not so nice cars run. The type of cars running went the gamut. The only LX running was Dallas300, one sharp car!

Had to leave early due to weather moving in on the track at 10:30.

After hitting the interstate going home it took a lot not to stomp on it and run with several Mustangs and Chevy SS Pickup's also heading for Dallas from the track. They were taunting me wanting to run but I had the kiddo and GF w/me, not gona do it. Finally a state trooper pulls on the Highway which cooled their jets. We followed the state trooper all the way to Dallas.

Somehow I missed this post. I've got a Mustang buddy at work that runs at Ennis fairly regular (he always borrows one of my motorcycle helmets to run in). Anyway, we'll have to get another group together and go down- I'm real interested to see what "baby" will do! Let me know for sure the next time you get the itch...

I'll be back on June 18th (assuming they don't send me for border patrol duty!):blam: so we'll have to figure a time after that for me to make it down there with you guys. I'm sure my Mustang buddy and Z06 buddy might want to tag along as well if that's all right (the Mustang guy is actually a MOPAR maniac and he's planning to pre-order a new Challenger as soon as they open up- so I consider him one of us in the making!).

The more the merrier, I think everyone will agree w/that... friends, reguardless what they drive, are more than welcome to come.
