A rainy Friday was made bright by a trip to Avon by the Sea...of course to Avon Custom Wheels! It was great to finally meet Ernie, Joey & Lori. They took the time to make me feel welcome and at home. I learned alot about the history of their business and the future planned. Custom work is to be the name of the game. It was time well spent making some new friends! Oh...and there were some wheels put on my car.
Hee-hee, oh those! I've waited a long time, gotten a lot of input (thanks DesmoDude & others) and finally made my choice. I went with the new 20" Boss 326's & Toyo Proxes S/T's in 255/45/20. The wheels & tires came out just as good as I hoped. I ran her an hour back down the shore through rain, slow, fast, smooth roads & rough roads without a problem. She handled better, rode better and of course looked better! Not a shimmy or shake to be felt, thanks to Joey's skill at their awesome computerized balance machine. Those things sure have changed since the days of centering that old bubble! The next day I put 250 miles on her going home. It was a mix of highway, two lane, light traffic and heavy. Again running better than ever. For anyone trying to decide if a wheel/tire upgrade is worth it, I for one highly recommend it.
Here are some pics of the day & the wheels. I'd love to know what you think!

I can't thank Ernie, Lori & Joey enough. They were very patient with me while I made up my mind, and while I hung around the shop. As usual, they were great to deal with! Just wish I could make Englishtown & the BBQ! Oh well, there's always next year.
