Bought a set of SRT magnum wheels. Putting them on my Daytona. After having a hard long look at the wheel i noticed that the polish on these are not that good. I've also seen a Charger SRT with the wheels and the polish finish is not glassy looking. You SRT owners see the same?

thats because they are polished and not chrome. polish=not real shiny.

Yeah, i understand the shiney part it's the forged aluminum finish. You can see swirls and scratch marks underneath the clear coat. Sorry for not being specific.

That's what I have. I'm thinking of doing a once-over on them before the Scottsdale meet.

Getting your wheels polished, if you dont want to do it yourself, is cheap. I got a set polished at the local....... ford dealership, yes I said ford. They had the equipment....

Anyways, it only ran me $35 per wheel!

Not bad, and they look 1 million times better, not 100 times or even 1000 times, a whopping 1 million times better!!!

Okay, i was just wanting to make sure I wasn't the only one. I don't think you could polish out the scratch marks on the aluminum without having to sand down to the aluminum with fine sanding and having to add the clearcoat after the polish.

I have the same swirl marks on my set. If you have your wheels polished, you have to be careful. There is a thick coat of clear lacquer on the wheels. If you start to "polish" the lacquer you might burn through the clear and ruin the finish. I tried to polish the wheel in a small inconspicuous part. I could not get the swirl marks removed. I left it alone. Stand back a couple of feet and you cant tell the difference. I remember reading on this forum about one guy polishing the rim and ruining the finish because of the lacquer

You could have them chromed. I saw a chromed set but I didnt like them. Too uniform in appearence. I like the two toned polished spoke and silver colored wheel.

I keep thinking of getting them chromed but only polishing the parts that are polished now and giving the rest of the wheel a really rough blasted finish.

Wonderhow it would really look though, might still be too uniform and ugly:(
