I think you should try some attic wheels.

Eric, I have never tried that stuff. I am too paranoid, did you install the weights, or have a shop do it?

Yes, the liquid balancers are excellent! I use them on the custom, forged wheels I have on my Harley. I don't have to have ugly wheels weights on those wheels.

A dynamic balance you get from the liquid or powder actually gives you longer tread life too because it is constantly adjusting for tread wear. The liquid also works to seal any small punctures you might have.

just make sure whoever applies the tape weights, make sure they clean the rim throughly!

PJ1 is the leading brand that I'm aware of. I'm very satisfied with the super quality and how well this products works too.

Here's the link for their product, PJ1 Balance Plus:

I'll find some others for consideration too.

I just checked their website (pj1) and their product is not recommended for car tires. I found it in their FAQ.

There are balancing beads that really work great. I threw wheel weights all the time. This method works.

Ah, but this brand of liquid sealant/balancer IS rated for cars, trucks, motorcycles, ATV's, etc. and is relatively inexpensive:

I am going to balance them myself this time, and if I can't get it I may try the beads.I am afraid of the liquid up here knowing how cold it can get.

My ride just got the shakes again. The wheels have been balanced three times since I bought them. I took the clips off and they worked fine for a while. I'm gonna check or re-torque the lugs and if that doesn't do it, I'm gonna try the beads.

Looks like I will be the LX Guieni Pig.

I will call the shop on Monday, that is close to me and have the beads installed.

I sure hope it works as the shakes are really starting to get to me, that I don't like driving sometimes.

Are you absolutely sure the wheels you have on are the correct bolt pattern and hubcenter bore? Something doesn't seem right here...

Yes, they were custom ordered with 5x115 and 40mm offset. I even measured the ID and OD for the hub thinking I might need hubcentric rings.

I got the wheels rebalance today,Static and Dimensional. The right rear was out 4oz,The rest about 1.5oz.The ride is smooth now with just a hint of a vibration around 65-70,but the counterbalance beads are supposed to take care of that. Those go in tommorow.

Can't wait to hear your results Hemi31. I just cleaned the wheels last night for a M&G and noticed that the fools that balanced my tires didn't clean off the adhesive from the previous time. Now I don't know if I threw a weight or not. I guess I would feel a big difference if I did. I'll know tomorrow for sure, the M&G is a two hour drive each way.

I am getting mine redone when the new stems come in.

I found some neat flush mount stems I am going to use to plag the 2nd hole. Also getting some stubby stems. ONce that are in hand its time for a rebalance.

My question would be with the beads is how much material are they going to have to put in the wheel to smooth it out ?

If you had your wheels balanced and still have the shakes, try to find a shop that will balance the wheels while they are on the car.

I am HAPPY with my new Generals! SMOOTH at speed and STICKY and CHEAP. I read the GIFO4 info and will reprogram with the info from there as I have made a few wrong choices. Looking forward to the drags now. These tires stick better in the wet than anything I have had before. I am not sure where they break loose but I will know before Montreal!
