My stock Conti's are coming to the end of life and I wanted to get opinions from experienced members. I have an '05 RT Magnum. I am looking for :
durability
spending less than $400 for all four tires
decent in winter
Also, do you guys usually order them or have your dealer/garage do it? Just wondering if it matters.
Thanks!

Try Tire rack, print out prices then see if PEP Boys can equal that price. If not than Tire Rack, they do have shops that will install tires in the area.

Pirelli P6 at Tire Rack $92 ea, only problem is they are T rated. Everyting else is over $100 ea.

I have owned both P6's and BFGKDWS. Spend the extra few bucks, imho. No comparison. 2-3 times the wear, way,way better handeling.

Got a quote from Sam's Club yesterday on BFG KDW NT (formerly known as KDW 2). $130.00 each for 255-55-18. These also come in a 245-55-18 that might be slightly cheaper but I didn't get a quote on them.

This is a mistake, unless it is a new size that BFG doesn't yet list at their website. http://www.bfgoodrichtires.com/assets/pdf/gforce_ta_kdw.pdf
Ditto for Tirerack.
A KDWS, a four-season tire, is available in 245/55. size.
$130 is a nice price.

Guys - Thanks for the replies. I think I'll spend the extra dough for more wear. As always, this forum comes through.

If you are going to spend more $ be sure to consider the Goodyear Assurance tires. They became available less than a year ago, so there isn't as much experience as with the BFG KWDS, but folks like them so far. The Goodyear are available in the stock size 225/60 and are a touring class tire. They seem to get higher ratings for snow then the KDWS. The BFG KWDS is more sport oriented and wider 245/55.
I read all the tire posts I can and these two tires get the best reviews from LX owners for all season tires.
