I have some minor surface scratches on my paint, which are a faint white, i believe they only scratched throught the clear coat. I also just got swiped today and just noticed it when i went to my trunk to get some stuff. Minor scratched and a few full paint scrapes no more than a inch long. The paint on the plastic bumper got scraped off exposing the black plastic underneath.
SEE PICS!
HOW SHOULD I GO ABOUT FIXING THESE SCRATCHES UP?

The minor scratches surface scratches just a good cut polishing would remove these and you will not notice. The plastic bumper can be a problem to touch up really nice. Best bet is to have the bumper removed and painted to match your vehicle if you want it to look good and not noticable.
If you can touch it up, buy a chip repair kit I believe there is one made by Norton - chip and scratch repair kit - that comes with sandpapers, cleaners, abrasives, buffing pad and waxes and body work compounds and instructions to repair the chips or scratches in your paint.
Good luck, hope you can get your car back looking new

I have used Meguiar's ScratchX with some benefit on the car. It does not take care of all of them completely, but it can be a cheap solution for some of the minor scratches. As much as I love the black crystal paint, I know that at some point a repaint is going to be necessary.

All of the dark colors are tough to keep scratch free. I have several rules of thumb on keeping the paint nice:
1. Find a really good detail shop and get friendly with them. I had some scratches that the kids accidently put on the hood that were deep. I though it was going to have to go to the body shop. I found a shop that said they would get them out. They did and it still looks great after about 9 months. When I take the car there, it has to be fully emptied out because they clean everything. It''s like getting a new car every time I pick it up.
2. I don't do the detail work myself any more. It takes too long, I can cause more trouble than good, and its always nice to pick the car up looking great.
3. I send the car to a body shop about every 18 months to take care of the small paint items. Rear bumper covers are always going to get damaged. I have two dimples in mine (I did one, one mysteriously appeared) and I will get it done in May.
4. Find a good paintless dent person. I have one come out to my work and have him do my car and my wifes car from time to time to save money. There has not been a dent he has not been able to get out.
Be very careful removing scratches yourself. I have been there and regretted doing so.
