Howdy All !
Just got a new Midnight Blue Pearl 06 Charger SXT (3.5L V6) - Couldnt afford the Hemi but loving this great new car. Almost scammed out of my last car, a 00 Hyundai Tiburon that I thought was sold overseas but luckily before the car changed hands, I found out the check was FAKE. So now I have 2 cars and working desperately to get rid of the Tib so I can enjoy my new Charger.
On top of that fact, don't know if anyone else had this problem, but I recently put 22 in Panther rims and low profile tires on the Charger. Took it in to Dishman Dodge to get the Speedo recalibrated to accomodate the larger wheel and they apparently have fried my computer. Was initially told they would have one in from Portland but now told they had to get one through the national warehouse and it will be Mon or Tues before I get the car back.
Would love some info how to get started here, fill out a profile etc .. and hope I am in the right spot!
CHEERS,
Dennis Davis

Hey Dennis. Welcome from the other side of the Cascades. Sweet lookin' ride you've got there. Swing by if you're ever in the neighborhood. Go to "User CP." that's where you'll be able to mess with your profile, signature, and many other options.

welcome Dennis. glad you could join us. curious as to how they "fried" your computer. changing tire size in FCM (front control module) is not an intrusive or dangerous procedure. last time i checked, 22" was not one of the choices available. however, last week's starscan update promised more choices. i would be very interested to find out exactly what happened. please keep us posted. thanks.

I remember Spokane very fondly from my family's time there in the early '60s (I was just a kid!). We lived relatively close to Minnehaha Hill (and park). Don't even know if I'm spelling it right now... Anyway... Welcome to this crazy group from our 300C now in WV.

My father was the pastor of Minnehaha Covenant Church. Sorry I don't remember ANY street names. We were last back in Spokane when the World's Fair was there... in 1974 if memory is serving. We loved how much the Spokane River had been cleaned up for that!

Well this is how they told it to me - They tried to make the adjustment, but the closest they could do was 18" with low profile tires. They said I needed to do some pacing with someone else just to verify how far its off. I went back to the car after they gave me the keys and it wouldnt start. Even the trunk release didnt work, which was strange. Anyway, the red light on the dash was on stating that the key wasnt the right key and he replugged in his little box .. he ended up resetting the transmission but after that, it would no longer accept commands. (at that point was when they said it was "fried") They told me they were just going to replace it and overnight one from Portland, called the next day and said Portland didnt have one and they had to get one from thier "national Warehouse" .... so the car sits dead at the dealership for now, I hope to get it back tomorrow but prob Tues. .... Hope that makes more sense ... I found it rather strange that the trunk release wouldnt work ... like that would have anything to do with computer anything ... although the stereo worked and the windows did roll up and down ....... Cheers, D

I believe the hatch won't open if the tranny's in gear. So the hatch, tranny and computer may be tied together.

Thanks for the note about the updated tire choices, I will let them know that when I see them in the next day or so .. perhaps we can get a little closer to 22's ... I think I have kinda put myself in somewhat of a bad position now though, it looks great and all and I thought by putting the 22's on, it would fill up that very large space in the wheelwell. Well, now, I think I am at my limit for size and now CANNOT add any kind of Eibach or other brand lowering springs, is this correct? I have an interest in getting the front and rear lights tinted or covered and I REALLY like the hood that Jayman4911 shows in the Charger Discussion forum has on his ride ... he emailed me a couple of days ago about it and I about fell off my chair when I saw it .... Anyway, I digress ... Glad to be here all ... maybe somebody might privately email me with directions how to post a real avatar of my car or how to make one, and how to have my car show up with my signature? THANKS - Dennis

It is not the wheel size that matters, it is the tire size. What tires do you have on the 22's? There are plenty of lowered LX's with 22's around here.

Hi ya, I am another newbe from Spokane! I just finished the deal for a White Magnum R/T that I hope to pick up tomorrow from Idaho (Weather Permitting). I wanted something to build as a daily driver so that I can fully dedicate my Dakota to the show circut. Give me six months and the Magnum will have blue flames down the side with the truck in tow  .

Actally I made most all of them this past year and did well. The excelerator show was the best outing though, I took home 5 of the 6 1st place trophies in the truck division. It helps having the only turvocharged V6 Dakota in the USA (that anyone knows of) I also made the 2006 DakotaUSA Truck Calendar. Now it time for a new project.

Hi Again ALL ! Got the Charger back and it runs like a top now ... REPPR - I got mine through DISHMAN so no, didnt even try D Smith, although they cant be the number one dealer in the nation for nothing ... never heard anything derogatory about them .. been kinda freaking out here, I bought the Charger on an impulse buy because I thought my other car had sold (2000 Hyundai Tiburon) only to get the check and its fake ... so now I am busting my ass trying to get it sold by the 7th of March when both payments are due ... but anyway ... glad to have the Charger back from the dealer with the new computer and hasnt cost me a dime ... just went over putting 600 miles on it now and getting great comments! Thanks for the welcome !

Would love to hear about it -- any other info is appreciated too ... Im still learning how to get all this stuff taken care of on the car, changin' it up a bit, customizing where I can, representing when I can ... and totally ROCKIN in this new muscle car world! hehe

Hi Again All !
I havent posted in a bit ... life has been hell trying to get rid of my tuner car .. its been sold 3 times, only to have them back out at the last minute.
Anyway, here are some new pics of the ride - I have had to do some changes - First off, the 22in Panthers I had on it were causing all kinds of problems with scraping the steering control arms and was told I was not able to lower it unless I changed - so I went to 20's and am so much more happy with it and the ride - - - Eibach Pro Kit goes on Wednesday 03/22- -
And Scratches ... damn !! Its been hell having a dark car again and the scratches have just been constant, so my brother and I got it into a garage and used a Meguires Polish to get everything off the car and then used Meguires GOLD CLASS Polish and some new clear stuff called ICE ... looks much better -- I added some new Emblems, took off the SXT and 3.5L off the fenders and replaced them with TIS Emblem in the back and 20" emblems on the fenders ....... a chrome prism pinstripe and "Charger" on the front windscreen and I am set for now ........ hope you like what I have done .... and unfortunately I wont be able to make the meet ... I still havent sold that other car and Im getting desperate before the bank gets it ...

Hi All,
One last post and I guess I will have to get involved elsewhere -
FINALLY -- the Tuner car is gone! So NOW I can concentrate on the changes and upgrades for my LX -
Im looking to put a Magnaflow Dual Exhaust on it, but when I went to the website selling them, it said something about looking around the LX Forum for a discounted and most competitive price ...... so I am still in progress with that.
My underbody LED kit was installed and the control box promptly fried and of course I almost killed myself trying to run into the house to get the wirecutters to cut the box out of the car before the car caught fire .. burned up my knee with a nice 3 inch hardwood floor burn and got a hell of a goose egg to the top of my head and killed a lamp ..... but I saved the car damnit!! HAHAHA
Its under warranty and awaiting a new box. Still having some really strange issues with Les Schwab tire center and trying to order an Eibach Pro Kit to install. They keep claiming its in "testing phase" and backordered since January, yet I see them on ebay and other sites selling them. I don't want to cause a major issue with em since I wanna finance em through them, but Im really tired of waiting too ...
Anyway, thanks for all the notes, hope the get together in March was fun, I havent seen any posts about it yet but I will try to look more ... and want to hopefully be involved with another one either in Washington or West Coast!
CHEERS TO ALL !

Thanks! I enjoy it a lot and of course they appreciate the training from a Veteran as well ........ been involved for 3yrs now and its just my way of giving back for the years the Navy was good for me and I can still wear a uniform. Lost my career when I got knocked from an Aircraft Carrier into the net on the side and developed degenerative arthritis in my hips and knees .. but good meds have me doing well, but they forced me to retire (which is fine, the way things were going, it was a good thing it happened when it did, my job became rather top heavy rank wise and I would never have advanced, and if you spend too long in one rank, they call it High Year Tenure and just kick you out, no benefits, nothing) but this position allows me to be an Officer and still find purpose in teaching about military protocol, marching, color guard, discipline, respect and the various jobs the Navy and Marine Corps has to offer. And of course for all the parades we do (Our next one is the Cheney Rodeo July 8th) they love the car too! I guess they noticed all the way to the Pacific Northwest Director out of Seattle, Captain Ford wondering how our unit afforded to have a car like this! hahaha ... We had to explain it was just a volunteer thing, that the Executive Officer just HAPPENS to have this car and businesses have donated the decals etc.
Anyway, sorry for the soap box version, I will step off now ... hope I didnt bore too many people out there! Getting ready for Hoopfest this weekend here, the US Navy Sea Cadets get to pick up trash (but we get a stipend for our unit of $2K so that helps) we will be in green camoflage uniforms - say hi if you are down there and see us!!!
