Hey y'all, I'm taking the mag (and three friends) on her first road trip to Chicago. I'm aware of quite a few LXers that live in and around the Windy City and I'd love to be able to see you and your car if I've got time.
I'm driving down to Skokie to stay with my sister tonight (probably arrive around 9-10pm). Then we're spending the next two days in downtown. The only events set in stone are: Howl at the Moon at 6pm on Saturday and the BlackhawksVSDevils hockey game at 6pm on Sunday. I'll be back in Skokie on Monday morning/afternoon before we head back.
I know this is short notice, but I'm sure the UBERWGN would love to meet some of her siblings.
Drop me a line if you think you want to meet up.

Hey guys, I'm really sorry I didn't connect with any of you. I left my AC phone charger at home and I had my car charger, but it didn't do me any good since we left the Mag in Skokie and took the train into the city. I also didn't have access to Internet... I plan on making regular trips to Chicago in coming months. In fact, I'm 95% sure I'll be down there again on the weekend of the 28th of January.
We had a BLAST! I had been there before, but I had a lot more time this time. Things we saw/did:
Aquarium
Blackhawks hockey game
Millenium Park
Pizzaria Due (amazing)
John Hancock Observation Deck
"Mag"nificent Mile
Riverfront
Howl at the Moon (most fun I've ever had in a bar - amazing!)
Wrigley Field
Lots of miscellaneous things...
It was a great road trip - and the Magnum made it so great!
We also ate at the Ram on Lake Cook on Monday for lunch as we left. Let me get exact times for my next trip down and we can plan something with a bit more notice.
EDIT:
Total trip distance = 815 miles. Overall mileage = 20.9MPG. CC at 80MPH most of the time. It took a little over two tankfulls. Keep in mind we did no driving into the city, that's 98% highway driving.

I went to Northwestern, so I lived in the Chicago area for 4 years.
The two things I miss are the music scene (everyone comes to Chicago) and the food.
There's a great Ethiopian place just down the street from Wrigley Field on Clark, Giordano's pizza, and the aforementioned Buffalo Joe's Wings.
