DMAG, Are you sure about the outer diameter of those particular tire sizes? The front should be approx. 28" and the rear, approx. 30.4" based on my calculations.
Also, no automatic will be available?

yeah, I notice the same thing too on the tire size, either the OD or the tire sizes are wrong.
we have no clue on if there will be an auto with or not, those were just the specs for the concept car, i'm hoping there will be an auto version with the 6.1 though, I do plan on trading in my magnum for one, but if it's standard only then i'll be keeping the magnum.

These are just the specs for the concept, not a list of options on a production vehicle. We're getting ahead of ourselves...

So how heavy is this beast? 3,800lbs? Not 4,000 like the tank sitting in my driveway I hope.

it's about 4100 pounds, it's not a small light car, it's actualy longer and wider than a 300C

My dealer says that the "word" is to expect a SRT version within 10 months of the Challenger release.

So will the RT have the 6.1? and the SRT will get the 6.4? I hope its not like the concept Magnum, with the supercharged 5.7, then production comes out and its just a regular 5.7L.
Wonder if they are even thinking about putting a 5.7L in it. Think the RT will just be the 5.7?
If this comes out, im soooo getting an SRT, ive always wanted a fast 2 door, not to mention this looks sweet.

My understanding is they shortened the LX platform from 120" down to 116" for the concept. And they still managed to make it longer? Geez. I wish it could weigh in somewhere around 3700-3800#.

Well the Magnum concept was badged an SRT-8 not an R/T, that's why the concept had more hp, but the Challenger concept is badged as an R/T so maybe they will put the 6.1 in the R/T and the 6.4 in the SRT, I would think that may very well be the case given than the 6.4 was introduced in a 1970 Challenger SRT-8, the 1970 Challenger be what the concept was based on makes me think that's kind of what they were hinting at with the 6.4.

Yeah, actualy the reason the shortend the wheelbase wasn't to make the car shorter, it was because the car's front and rear overhangs were to short and didn't fit with the retro styling so the shortened the wheelbase and lengthened the body to make the overhangs larger.

4100#?? no way..
4" shorter wheelbase and minus two doors and real back seats??? 3800 tops...
the frick'n magnum in all its 4door and 100% trimmed out interior is 4100lbs...
Who cares what the overhangs are.. it isn't 17' long like a magnum.. and it has 4" less structure....

it has no less of a back seat than the magnum does, no less weight there.
a magnum SRT-8 which is the closest magnum equivilant to the challenger concept is 4260lbs. not only 4100lbs.
actualy the challenger is .1" longer than the magnum, the magnum is 197.7" long, the challenger is 197.8" long, the challenger is also 4.5" wider at 78.6 vs the magnum's 74.1" width with an extra 1" front track and 2" rear track, that's a lot of extra material for that extra width in the car, the extra weight from all that extra width would be at least as much lost from the slightly shorter wheelbase, so mostly the difference at that point is the difference between a wagon and a coupe, the difference between a wagon and sedan (magnum vs charger) is 100lbs., the typical different between a sedan abnd coupe is usualy no more than 50lbs. so car and driver's 4100lbs. estimate is pretty close.

Wow!!! You folks are treating all of this like it's fact!
Just keep in mind that this car won't even be on the current platform. Anything can happen at this point.
Let's hope ALL of the next gen LXs are lighter by a few hundred.
