As for weekly thing there are Cruises every weekend starting in April.

The McDonalds in Gurnee IL does a thing Every Friday it's mostly old cars but we could always crash it. I did once after I was told NO I still got some "Nice car" coments

There is also a thing in Fox Lake every Saturday at a very nice old Dog and Suds. Lots of nice classics too.

So what you guys in IL got in mind.

Oh were going to try and get to the Drag strip too.

I'll have to keep my eye on this thread, prolly have to make my way upto a few meets. Beings that i'm the only guy in Iowa thats a member of this site, well that atleast admits there from Iowa. Otherwise we have a street racing nite at the local drag strip in the summer one friday a month i believe it is. It would be cool set one up to have everyone come to sometime.

the twin to mine is still in D status. The dealer has sold 5 Charger SRTs and Two Mags so far, average $500 under sticker... mine was quite a bit better, but the sales manager is a family friend. Sell your car outright, and then go see the sales manager there, PM me for info. I know you think they are busting your chops on the trade, but they take all the national wholesale auction prices into account not Kelly Blue Book for trades. If they can buy the same car at auction for $5K or more savings why would it be a prudent business decision to pay what you need?

Just throwing all that out there for dicussion so please don't take it as criticism. I wish we all had one or two of these things:)

don- selling outright isnt much better because id have to pay taxes on 38K instead of 10K. its a wash.

and i dont care what someone can get at an auction...im not gonna get hit that hard on a trade in. if a private owner buys it for 29-28K then id still take a big hit on the tax. im just not willing to lose more than a couple thousand on my car at this point.

i can live with what i got and save the money (or blow it on the kw and turbo lol). the last dealer that told me what they would give me for my car (my truck at the time) used the wholesale price. kbb was 18K i think, they offered me 11K at most. i told them they could shove it up their ass for that price and left. i know the used car market is saturated but comeon.

I understand... my guy can show you what the wholesales are going for at auction... you live in Cook County so you get a nice extra wack on the sales tax for Da Mayor, that sucks. Sales tax in Will county is only 7% so on $30K that would be $2100... and Cook is higher yet. I understand you pain!

I had to debate long and hard after the Challenger press release came out about whether to lease for two years or to buy this thing outright. I'll still be making payments when the Challenger makes it out in '08! I could have just walked away if I leased and saved quite a few bucks at the same time IF everything goes like you expect. I never liked the idea of not being able to make mods etc put on too many mikes and not owning the thing after so I bought it.

The World Drag Expo will be at the Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles, Ill. on Jan. 28 – 29. Route 66 Drag Staff will be on hand to answer any questions you may have. Plan on attending this event for updates on the 2006 schedule. Racers can sign up for the E.T. Brackets Series points and make your appointments for the ETI & CHASSIS Inspections.

Got this off the Rt. 66 website. Not a really big show, but it's a good excuse to get out of the house! ( We could check with the Rt. 66 at the show and see what renting the track for a forum day night cost... I know a guy that runs a IHRA Pro-Stock and he indicated that the price is not all that bad! )

Anyone in for this? (Pray for nice weather!)

About next weekend. I can't do anything Saturday. Milk Shake informed me that it's the Mother inlaws B-day. I dont want to give the in-law any more resone to hate me.

I just talked to my tire shop. The Owner is interested in doing a Weekly Car show/Cruise night. He told me set it up he can bring in the local Radio station and maybe once a month we could do a cookout. I'm working on the idea and will be planning out what to do and how often. Probably Friday nights something to go against the Gurnee Classic Show. Since they don’t let any of us new guys in. What do you guys think? Suggestions and ideas welcome.

I normally work in Carol Stream on Fridays so I would at least be a half hour further north / closer to you and DAT. I am booked always on the third Friday of the month for a Board meeting I have.
