The Feb. Road and Track has an even better article on the Challenger. Some of the pics that have been circulating are from this article apparently. I think I would sell my soul, my wife, my kids, even my dog to be the first on the block to own one. Well, maybe not the dog.

dude, the Imperial looks so amazing. I thought I would never consider trading in my magnum but boy that puppy sure is tempting.
I can't wait to see spyshots of that thing.

There are photos of the car in the mag.
Ouch, that rear end ruined it for me.

Front is not much better - IMO
The suicide doors are cool though.

Backside looks like a bloated CHEBBY -- they better get back to the drawing boards. Front, agreed, is not too stellar.

I GOT IT! The trunk is a PT Cruiser hood! Recycling is not always a good thing.
PS DMAG just noticed the "MindCrime" - hope it has not been there too long.

Easy big fella!
The Challenger looks hot, the Imperial, give me a break, different design groups all together. Maybe they are going for the old money retired folks with the Imperial.
I can see a Challenger in my future, also keeping the Magnum and offing the old Toyota truck now used for utility trips. I'm gonna have to pay the Magnum off first though...easy, August 2007 and I'm done!!

I like the imperial front end, it has a cross of a 300 front and a charger I think. I was thinking the same thing about the rearend when i seen that picture it looks like a PT.

I see the Challenger will be displayed in Detriot at the upcoming car show. I hope there's two and we get to see it here in LA also.

If the 300's styling was bold, the imperial is ostentatious/brazen/flamboyant. Wannabe rappers and thugs are gonna lap that car up.

In the Editorial section of the February 06 Motor Trend they talk about the business case for building the Challenger and Imperial. Apparently the moronic bean counters of DCX think there area reasons NOT to build them:
Challenger - they are afraid that the market won't support the Mustang and the Challenger and the LX/LY platform is more expensive to make since it has IRS and control arm front suspension.
Imperial - idots think that it would take sales from Mercedes....no way. It is a completely different customer and no one who buys a $100,000 S Class would shop a Chrysler. Also, the $50,000 Mercedes are the size of Hoda Civics.
Log on to www.motortrend.com to let them know we want them both built!

I love the idea of the Imperial even more.
They have to do it.

When I heard of this, I worried that my 300C would be bumped down a peg as Chrysler's flagship. One look at the pics of the Imperial and I have nothing to fear!

My official review is now up - probably the most complete roundup from Camp Mopar you'll find right now. :)

My thoughts
1. No way onthe 5.7. It will need more power than that. Like I said before, give me the 6.4 with a high torque cam profile.
2. The original Imperials (VE cars) were driver's cars. They were much better tourers than Lincoln or Caddy. Lets make sure that happens again.
3. By then Chrysler may be able to get the MB 7 speed automatic - though if you put enough low end torque you won't need it.
4. It has to give you something a lot more than the comp

The rear end of the Imperial probably has Chris Bangle gagging with naseau. They better tweak it. On second thought, they better completely redo it. As for the Challenger-they better not change a THING!

The unveiling will be at NAIAS in a couple of weeks, but I'm sure it will make an appearance at every major auto show this year. Mrs. bipto and I are tossing around plans to go to NYAIS (New York) in April to see it. :thumbs_u:
