I felt a slight steering wheel vibration going in to work yesterday. It was about 48 degrees. It was about 1 1/2 miles from the house. It was right after 1/2 miles of very bumpy road (back road covered with patches, no potholes). As I drove, it smoothed out. By the time I got 4-5 more miles, it has smoothed out. Do these tires need time to "warm up"?

To be honest, I never noticed flatspotting? I kept them around 40 psi. Much harder to do burnouts though than Conti's or Pirelli's, they hang on like a pitbull on a mailman's ass.

I noticed the max PSI on the sidewall is 44. 40 seems a bit high. I haven't checked mine yet. I have to work from dark to dark, and forgot last Sunday. Maybe Xmas. I'm gonna try 36-38.
thanks for the input.

"Hang on like a pitbull on a Mailman's ass" I like that!
I have the KDW, not the "S" and they do hang on as described. I can still light 'em up at will, they sure make a nicer sound than the Cont's when they squeal, sounds like some serious grabbing!! The KDW tires are holding up really well even with some abuse from time to time.
Cornering is awesome, you can easily paste your passengers face against the window if they are not holding on!! I had to clean some makeup off mine, Wifey was not happy, rides in the back most of the time now with the Kiddo!! He, He!!

When I had these on my wife's Mustang GT, I ran them at 35 psi. Sometimes the Mustang would sit for extended periods between driving and I noticed not flat spotting.

I'm thinking an uneven road surface could have caused it, right? It only did it on that one stretch of road.
Oh, yeah, I checked the air pressure (from Discount Tire) and both rears had 28-29 PSI. Did they think I wanted a smooth ride or something? Isn't that even lower than what DCX recommends?
I also notice a little vibration for the first several miles on cold mornings (sub 20 degree days) with the KDWS. I'm running 35psi. I had the same "flat-spotting" vibe with the original Contis - only they were much worse (in all regards!). These are a far better match for the car than the Contis - both in tire type, quality and size. I wonder why DC didn't choose them for the OEM tire on RTs??

I had them on my Impala SS and they did flat spot a little when the car sat a long time or in real cold conditions. It went away after a few miles each time.

The steering wheel "shudder" has shown up a couple more times, but never at the same location. I'm wondering if the tire place that installed them messed something up. Odd thing is, it doesn't do it all the time.
