In the old, old days....Dodge made the Charger and the Challenger... and Plymouth (which is gone now) made the Roadrunner and the Cuda...Since Dodge is returning the glory days of the late 60's, Why couldnt Chrylser take up the name sake (Plymouth) and bring us back the Roadrunner (with the "beep beep") and the Cuda??? :thumbs_u: With the 300C being a 4 Door, they could make the Roadrunner a 2-door like its suppose to be. They could even bring back the Superbird!! :racing: Just dont bring back the Valliant! ugly!
Maybe DC is listening.

LOL - there have been rumors on Allpar.com for years that the Plymouth brand will be ressurected. I really can't see that happening, but I suppose stranger things have happened...
But you couldn't brand the Road Runner or 'Cuda a Dodge - no way. If you think the "purists" were pissed when they found out the '06 Charger was a 4 door, you just wait until they catch wind of a Dodge Road Runner - all hell would break loose!

I would be willing to forgive a Chrysler Roadrunner though, or a Chrysler Roadrunner GTX!

Chrysler lost all purity in the late 70s and 80s when they bastardized great names like
New Yorker
Imperial
Charger
Magnum
etc

If DCX doesn't resurrect the line, I am sure that someone, somewhere will make the neccessary modifications and completely re-badge their Challenger as a 'Cuda.
Another idea instead of bringing back the entire line (which could be far more expensive than it's worth) would be for DCX to offer the "Plymouth 'Cuda" as a special appearance package, along the same lines as the Daytona package for the Charger. Different headlights/grill insert, different taillights, a special paintjob or two, and new badges would cover the major differences. It would still technically be a Dodge Challenger on the inside, but on the outside it would be for all intents and purposes a Plymouth Barracuda.

You forgot about the Dodge Coronet. It was a B-body the same as a Charger and Roadrunner until 1971. If they did the Coronet then they could do the "Super Bee!"

I feel that the new charger could have been easily called a Fury, a name that sold lots of 4-door cars and many cop cars.Even a hemi fury would have sold as well as the charger.or even st regis. After all it is a sedan yes a performance sedan but still a sedan.
The Charger argument is over. It is a done deal. Ain't gonna change. Enjoy it for what it is. Forget what it isn't.
