Anyone compared the weight of a 20' foose nitrous to a stock. Are they heavier or lighter??

Do I need a lowering kit to get the 20's to fit right?

I did the old fashion pick up the stocker and then the newbie, with shoes they were really close. As far as having to lower it, your call. I will be dropping my front about an inch as soon as I can find the right adjustable struts.

I was also thinking about lowering mine 1". I think it is not really neaded though. As for the weight I have not had them off after getting them put on. I will see if I can get a true weight when I get my valve stems in on Dec. 10. I have had to put flush valve stems in for the center valve stem holes because the clearence is less that a 1/4" between the valve stem and the calipar. I do have the tire preasure sensors in the rear valve stem hole.

the attached pic is a 300c on left with no lowering( mine ) 300c on right 1.6 lowering springs ( Erics ). same tire size 255/45r 20"

Heavier, but not by much. Stock = ~22 lbs., Nitrous 20x8.5 = 28 lbs.

To *fit* right? No, not at all. But you might want a lowering kit to make it *look* right, but that is always subjective thing.

When I had mine installed the guy wasn't thinking about the stem location and installed them in the inside position. When I spun the wheel sounded like my kids bike with cards in the spokes. This was of course after all were mounted and balanced. Had to break them down again and install new stems in the other location.

? AGGOST: How is the ride compared between the two since you can do a side by side, really interested. Thanks.

The Lowered one is Black Cherri she's a dream to drive and the ride is just as good as stock. Milk Shake just got a Magnum totaly stock and i really cant' tell the differance in the to car's ride.

Thanks for the input. I might go with springs, I'm not having to much luck with after market adjustable struts (locating and installed info from the driver).

I am glad you brought that up Cam. I do hear and feel some humming from the front right tire. This might be the thing you are talking about. I feel this at about 40mph. I will find out more after the 10th. As for adjustible struts I see that mopar had some at the sema show this year. Please somebody help me on the link that somebody posted this week.

Be carefull with springs. B/C is off a little. She has the Eibach pro 1.6 drop. Im thinking of going to air ride.

When you say humming, like what?. Also which tires did you go with. I had problems with my first set and changed them out to the F1's. If the stem is hitting the caliper, big problem. Can you imagine ripping that off at speed!!. I was at SEMA but didn't see those struts, but then again all things were hazy for a few days. Post some pic's would like to see your ride. Just noticed you have the 420's. These are the tires I had problems with, after the change problem sovled!.

Hmmm 6lbs is almost a deal breaker. 24lbs of extra reciprocating mass is going to hurt performance. How much is a guess though.

Cam What problem did you have? I had the 420 since they first cam out no problems and no whislte.

Lieu910. Gotta say, didn't notice any dif in the ride, of course this could be me. I still have the stockers at the house. I'll weigh'em and check the over-all # of both set-ups. Besides hell if it looks fast gotta be fast right?.

scarbs: The ride was fine on smooth roads, but get them on the freeway (SoCal) and I couldn't hardly keep the thing on the road. Any rut or line and it would grab and jerk the car into them. It would make some of them K-rails jump right out at ya!. I put 800 miles on'em and couldn't take it no more. So I figured if the F1's were good enough for the SRT8, they was good enough for me. I know there are a fews others on this forum that drive the same roads I do and are happy with the 420's, just not for me I guess.

I did not have this humming till recently. I know the valve stem is not hitting but are close to it. Its only at 40mph to 45 mph its like a resonance from the front. other than that speed do I feel anything from any part of the tires and wheels. I wish I can say I have some good pics but I have not taken many of my car.

A couple weeks ago there was a thread that listed a hum from the front at those speeds, but I can't remember who/what/where or why.

Great, thanks cam. I have your car on my computer backround! It's no secret that inferno red Magnums are faster right? Kidding guys.

I live in SoCal the only dampness I hit is when the neighbors dog pisses on my rims. I've been in the rain and have nothing to gripe about, we'll see what happens when they get some miles on them. From everything I read depending on how you drive these are only avg. 20k tires. They might end up getting slippery after 10k or something?.

The difference in weight is inconsequential.

It doesn't hurt performance to any measurable degree. As a matter of fact, these are the same size wheels that go on the SRT8 without any performance penalty whatsoever.

Besides, you'll also need to account for the difference between stock tires and those that would go on the Foose. You'll often find that the stock tires are heavier.

Aggost, thanks for the lead.
Jrod81, cool, just checked out that site, thanks.
Tomorrow I'll weigh the stockers and the nitrous with treads and post the weight.
