It saddens me that I'm unable to atten this weekend's Hammerfest as I'm moving into my new house, but I saw a great picture on the web that must have been taken in front of the dealer where Hammerfest is being held.....

http://www.glazeworld.com/boards/hammertime.jpg

I hope everyone that is going has a great time, especially Hammer. He deserves this! Hopefully he can listen to HairNation on Sirius with Connie.

I won't be able to make it either. Take lots of pictures and post them for all of us to see. I think next summer there needs to be a "Hammer American Tour" where Scott and Connie drive the new Charger across the USA to visit everyone. We'll leave the light on for you two. Have fun this Saturday and post lots of pictures of the great event. I'll be thinking of you this weekend!!! :-)

I'd give my left nut to make it to Hammerfest, but the soon-to-be wife already owns that one! We've been working towards this move since March, and I think I'd loose both reproductive spheres if I didn't help unload our crap from the PODS.

I'll tell you what....I'm gonna be at the Detroit Autoshow in Jan. If any of you can make a roadtrip, I'll be there!

Hammer...you're the man. I wish I knew half about these cars as you do. If you're ever in the Cincinnati area, and you need a place to stay, let me know!

Any plans for a Hammerfest 2006? If there is, I might plan my vacation around it. Oct-Nov next year?

I think it should be a yearly event also. That would be fun.

I will take a ton of pics and upload them from the hotel Saturday evening. Look for a post late night Saturday. The hotel is supposed to have free wireless internet. Lets hope it is working.

Nobody could possibly want to join the festivities more than I ......but I can't get the time off or handle the 3,000 mile journey. My mom read the prayers and well wishes from you people and cried. She was shocked that I hadn't met 99% of you. I assured her that in do time, I would. Maybe next year, I'll take a month off to drive around the U.S. and pay some visits. I too will be at Hammerfest in spirit! I'll have an enema in honor of you, Rev.

If there is an annual Hammerfest, and I suspect there will be, it would be cool to have t-shirts made up that list the names, both screen and birth, of the people that attended. Kind of like a band tour shirt that lists dates and places.

If that happened, I'd have to make the motion to change the name to "Hammerstock".

I hope someone out there has a video camera!!! I wanna see the moment that Hammer gets his keys!

Hell, I bet if someone called the news, it'd get some attention....it would also be good publicity for the Charger! In todays world where the evening news is 95% bad news, the whole story behind Hammerfest and how everyone in the forums got this far, would make for a nice heartwarming story for some station...

For immediate release:

Hammer Fest 05

Saturday, November 19th. 12:30 PM at The Hermitage in Hermitage TN.

The Hammer Fest is the first national gathering of members of the online community of www.lxforums.com (http://www.lxforums.com/). The members of this community celebrate the ownership of the LX series of Chrysler and Dodges, the Chrysler 300, Dodge Magnum and Dodge Charger. They share there love of cars in general and their love of Mopars (Chrysler products) in particular. Through this forum members exchange knowledge of the cars, solutions to problems and general sense of good fellowship across the United States, Canada and several other countries. They also gather in regional groups across the country to show off their cars and have a good time as part of a caring community.

Hammer Fest is the first national gathering of this group of enthusiasts in order to celebrate a special occasion for its most respected member Scott Peterson, known online as Rev. Hammer. Rev. Hammer has been a long time member of the forum and has contributed more information to the group than any other member. His posts have been informative, supportive, hilarious and awe inspiring in their diversity. He has always been the first to offer a kind word when another member has experienced difficulties with there car or with life. He has been a true inspiration to all of who are members of this special group.

His boundless knowledge of the cars so enthusiastically owned and driven is amazing for one special fact. The good Rev. Hammer does not own one these special vehicles. A hard working and caring citizen of Arab, AL, he has put his families needs ahead of his personal desire and has been satiating his desires for ownership through LXForums.

The members of LXForums, in recognition of his contributions, hatched a plan last spring to save the Rev. Hammer from driving another brand of car. They pledged to raise the money to cover a significant down payment for a new Dodge Charger and they further promised that they would travel with him to the dealership for the delivery to help him celebrate the joyous occasion.

The fundraising drive was successful and the time has come to celebrate. With timely cooperation of Regent Dodge of Madison, TN, that very special 20006 Dodge Charger is now ready for delivery.

An invitation was sent out to the members and they have responded. Members will be flying and driving in from California, Texas, Arizona, New Hampshire, North Carolina, South Carolina, Wisconsin, Delaware, Virginia, Illinois and Missouri and other states for Hammer Fest 05. Most will be bringing their special cars, Magnums, 300’s and Chargers, many are prize winning show cars. Most of these members have never met face to face and yet, thorough the special relationships formed online, they have come together to create this celebration for a good person.

The gathering will begin at The Hermitage at 12:30 with a show of the cars. At 2:00 the group will caravan through Lakewood and Old Hickory to Madison and Regent Dodge to celebrate the delivery of the Hammer Charger. The next phase is a parade back to The Hermitage for more fellowship and car talk and then a fine southern style dinner at Monell’s at The Hermitage. Special awards from the vendor sponsors of LXForums will help make the Hammer Charger even more special. After dinner, and just for fun, a Hammer roast will let Scott know how much he has been appreciated.

Dang it! That incredible press release is killing me....after reading that, I really want to go to Hammerfest tomorrow. I wonder if anyone would notice if I slipped away for about a day and a half during our move..... It's killing me that I can't make it. I'm dying to meet the lot of you, and Hammerfest is the best opportunnity to meet such great LXers and for me, the timing was off by a weekend or so. Oh well, I'll be there in spirit even though I wish I was there in person. I hope you all have fun, and I'd definitely be up for Hammerstock sometime.

I like the Hammerstock idea...we could meet somewhere (Nashville, St Louis, Chicago, Atlanta) maybe in the spring/early summer when it's warm and we can all hang out. Not to mention, there won't be any holiday parties to interfere. We got a bunch of smart one's in this forum!
