A brand new version of the Chrysler (http://www.allcarselectric.com/make/chrysler,new) 300 is coming next year, kicking off a product renaissance at Chrysler (http://www.greencarreports.com/make/chrysler,new) that will include a score of new or updated models over the next 48 months.
The Auburn Hills-based automaker has already previewed its upcoming 2011 Chrysler 300 (http://www.motorauthority.com/blog/1032230_chrysler-previews-interior-for-next-gen-300) and now for the first time we have spy shots of the car (http://www.lxforums.com/board/#), albeit just a test-mule hidden under the sheet metal of the current model.
The 2011 Chrysler (http://www.motorauthority.com/make/chrysler,new) 300 is claimed to be up to 19% more fuel-efficient (http://www.lxforums.com/board/#) than the current model and to set it apart from the competition it will also feature new levels of connectivity and entertainment.
Power will come from Chrysler’s Pentastar V-6 or a Hemi V-8 (http://www.lxforums.com/board/#) with cylinder deactivation. A high-performance SRT8 model should also be launched.
Safety features will include ‘Rear Cross Path’ and ‘Blind Spot Monitoring’ systems to warn drivers of unseen vehicles, electronic stability control (http://www.lxforums.com/board/#), an energy-absorbing steering column, a rear-sill reinforced body structure.
Expect the 2011 Chrysler (http://www.teenwheels.com/make/chrysler,new) 300 to make its debut in the first half of next year.

It sure looks like the current Srt model with a camo'd nose.
I hope thats not the grille setup. Looks like the register vents of my furnace.

It does look like the current SRT8 wheels on it, somehow the lines look a lil more aggressive, maybe its the angle of the picture.

It says in the article that it's the 2011 model in a current generation body. THere are no changes you can see from the picture.

^^ Ya I wouldn't get worked up over the spy shots at all. However, I'm sure we'll be seeing more and more spy shots surfacing in the next few weeks to few months.

Hopefully the rest of the LX gets better interiors asap!

19% more fuel efficient! That would make it as good or better than most of the Honda's on the road today.

it is a current model. its a test mule meaning it has a different engine then what we have for testing around town.

Have faith my friend... I think everyone will be pleasantly surprised with the interior changes that Chrysler is implementing.

This is what i have been saying kind of. People were saying how can Chrysler come out with new cars so fast etc. I said Chrysler has always been known for keeping things under close wraps till the last min, and that they were probably testing there new engines, gadgets etc on a curent model just to keep the new one more secret. So guess i was right lol

Left Lane News (http://www.leftlanenews.com/chrysler-300-2011.html) has this:
"In order to improve fuel economy, Chrysler engineers will focus on aerodynamics, axle ratios and drivetrains. At the heart of the improvements will be Chrysler’s all-new Phoenix family of V6 engines. The new Phoenix V6 will likely replace both V6s currently offered in the LX cars, improving both fuel economy and performance. Look for the Phoenix family of engines to feature Chrysler’s fuel-saving MDS cylinder deactivation technology.
But the new Phoenix V6 won’t be the only big news for the 2011 Charger and 300. Chrysler is also planning to replace the cars’ four and five-speed automatic transmissions with a new eight-speed unit, rivaling Lexus for the most cogs in the business. "

you should have flashed them that pretty smile of yours and shown a little leg you might have been asked to stay!!
lol
or told them you were on the build team and thrown a bunch of specs at them and i'm sure they would have believed you.
as for the car the mirrors look different to me but then i'm not a big 300 enthusiast.
from what i know it is getting a redesigned front clip and rear tail section and the rest of the car is basically the exact same.
i might be wrong here but on the exception of interior mods it is the same car with a bit more bling.
someone on here will know for sure and might spill the beans a bit?

Hooray to the death of the 2.7 V6 and its underpowered glory!

Well the Motor Trend new car issue claims to have seen the new 300 and claim that it is "gorgeous" so I think they've got something good in the works :)

The resdesign was shown when Chrysler went to the white house to ask for bailout money.

I still had a hard time believing those were real. They looked so incredibly cheesy and unprofessional... but I guess they were trying to appeal to Congress and if anything knows cheesy and unprofessional, it's the majority of the U.S. Congress.
