I need some advice/help here. I have an '05 RWD R/T Magnum that was built in 4/04, and I've owned it since June '04.
Loved the car when it was new. A few years into it, I upgraded the suspension with a set of SRT takeoff springs & shocks. Loved the car again. Last year I replaced inner & outer tie rods, loved the car again.
Now the car has 135,000 miles on it; and I hate it...the front end seems really loose and clunky again. No doubt I need new shocks which I have planned to do for a while, but my tension strut bushings are torn as shown in the Pedders video, and my sway bar end-links feel like a week link.
So I think I need to replace all of these items, at a minimum.
I haven't made my mind up yet, but I am considering going with the Pedders stuff, as it looks to be much beefier than OEM. Also, I plan to do the work myself.
My questions:
1) Is the Pedders really that much better performance-wise than OEM? and/or does it last longer?
2) Will the Pedders shocks work well with my SRT springs?
3) If I order the tension strut bushing, how difficult is it to install into the OEM tension strut or am I better off with a new OEM strut with a new bushing already installed?
4) Any special tools/skills required?
Answers and any other insight would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Paul
