Is this really needed when changing the springs? I'm going to change springs at home and don't have one.

no it is not needed (our cars dont have a pitman arm for one).

are you trying to change the front our rears?

Changing out both. Have a eibach pro kit. Bought from karlito

Other than basic wrenches and sockets, a spring compressor for the fronts is helpful. Not needed on the rear.
I can't imagine how a pittman arm puller would come into play.

The fronts are real easy and you don't need one of those

Most people dont do this when installing springs, but trust me it makes it real easy.

This is for the front. After you remove all bolts from the botom part of the struts. loosen the bolt thats directly above the tire which connects the upper A arm to the spindle. This is very easy and make sure you have allen keys they will help you when removing and retightening this bolt. loosen the bolt and leave it with a couple of threads on the bolt. Using a hammer pound this round area on the spindle to loosen the spindle and free it from the A arm.

Once you have the spindle loose you can remove the bolt and you have a lot of room for freeing that strut. Trust me it'll be a life and time saver.
