Wow gang! To be chosen by all of you is really an honor. I do not take that lightly. Thanks for the votes!

Since I am a relative newcomer to LX Forums, I just wanted to let you all know that I am not a photographer. I'm just a guy with a car and a camera who enjoys using them together. The camera used is nothing special. Just a Kodak Easyshare C743 point and shoot deal. Heck, until last summer, I never strayed from the "AUTO" setting on the camera! I guess my point is this... You don't need to invest thousands in camera equipment to get a cool shot. Not knocking those who do (I may be one of those guys in the next couple years, since this contest has sparked an interest in taking pictures that I never had before). Just look around and make the most of what you have to work with.

The shot I used this month came together one morning at 5:00am. I usually don't get up until 6:30, but I know the lighting at sunrise can make for some great pictures. The church is "Mother of Sorrows" in Ashtabula Harbor (about 1/4 mile up the road from the drawbridge I photographed for the April contest!). I did plenty of driving this month to check out other churches, only to end up shooting at a local one. Here are some other shots that were a little bit interesting:

So I guess I am responsible for picking the new theme. The first thing that came to mind was "Wet T-shirts". Well, it IS summer, isn't it?! So after a verbal warning from Shannon, I decided to go with something a little more "appropriate".

Signs. Get creative with a street sign. Find a funny billboard. Take a picture next to a "No Photographs" sign. It's up to you, just HAVE FUN!

Congrats on the win. Good theme for this one - I think I can have a lot of fun with signs. (reminds me of an old Tesla song...)

Congrats again on the great shot taken! you said it right. I won the first month with my cheapy sony point and shoot. its not so much the camera as it is the person taking the shot and how you set it up.

I for one didn't have the time to get the shot I wanted. having a wife thats preg. and a 2 year old I have been finding it hard to just leave the house in search of some great shots and having time to get the "angles" right.

awesome theme! everyone should be able to get something for this one I already have about 5 locations in mind.

I'm glad that you won. That's a picture I voted for and the one I personally thought was the best of the bunch.

Really diggin the others as well.

Do you have a flickr account or something else? I'd like to follow your photography. ;)

Congrats Jon! As soon as I saw your pic :panic: for last month, I knew right off that I'd lost. This months theme sounds like alot of fun and a great challenge :thumbs_u:.

factoryD, I do not have a flikr account. So far, I have only been taking pics for this contest and when I mod the car (documenting changes, if you will). That may change one day. I'll keep you posted.

being a new comer, i think this is a great way for us new guys to get involved :D.... as soon as i seen the theme i already have a sign thats not only going to be great, but might actually make some people wet themselves MUA HAHAHAH ^_^ congradulations on the win there :) it was an awesome shot and very well placed!

BTW, where do we post new pics for next months?
