I am really tired of the dealers in my area (Joliet, IL) not knowing what this car is or how to fix any of the problems that pop up.

I have a 2005 Magnum RT and I brought in the TSB for the popping noise in the right side of the dash. They fixed the problem, but now we have a rattling in the same area. We brought it back today and their response was "Chrysler told us to take out the bolt. We don't know what to do with the rattle."

Does anyone know of any good, reputable dealers in the Chicagoland area that I can take this to that would know of, or at least *want* to research, these cars?

Jim

I have very good luck with Thomas Dodge in Orland park and Downers Grove Dodge on Ogden.

although i have not had any complaints of rattle from this TSB, since i read about people experiencing rattles after removing this bolt, i have been stuffing a piece of rubber vacuum hose between the dash and the cowl to prevent any future rattles

Sorry, I don't have personal experience cause I've just begun Charger shopping at the moment, but I was fairly impressed with Larry Roesch on Grand in Elmhurst. Salesman let me walk through service area and talk with service mgr. Service is open Saturdays too. They were a Jeep Chrysler dealership and just picked up Dodge within the last couple of months.

Have to agree about Downers Grove Dodge - seems like a great dealership. I even test drove the Mag SRT8 that they are ebaying right now. Where quite helpful, I would give them a shot.

I have heard good things about Downers Grove, as well. I've been using Schaumburg Dodge for service, and the guys running that department are great. I was told by a tech to stay away from their sales staff, though!

FYI, I bought at Webb Dodge in Glen Ellyn. Their service dept. was okay, but I like Schaumburg better.

heh, I went there today. The sales guy wouldn't go lower than sticker whatsoever and I was going to pick up one of the R/T's on their lot. They are crazy if they want to sell at sticker in the Chicago area. I'm gonna go try the Dodge dealer in Elgin.

BTW, last year when I was thinking about a Signature Series 300, I was at the Elgin Chrysler dealer and they werent bad, especially about going down in price considering it was after the Signature Series werent being made, making them very hard to find. So im sure they could get you a good deal now.

I'm gonna go there again now because i just found out they bought out the Dodge dealer that was near them.

Thanks. I'm looking to replace a 94 Pontiac that has served me well. Got a sports package on it that enhanced the driving experience (for me) on those rural hilly windy roads. I'm not really into cars & mods so much and not as knowledgable as many of the others here, but want something visually appealing to me and fun to drive.

I'm leaning to the Charger SXT w/ options (protection, comfort seating, sunroof, radio upgrade, maybe 18" wheels), at the moment. I've got a few must have's on my list and I'm still weighing a few little extra niceities(?sp) on my existing car trying to figure out how much I'll miss them, if at all, on the Charger. Some like glove box light and hood props are fixable afterwards. But I don't have to make a decision until they start making the protection group which is a must have for me. Another concern I have is I haven't driven a RWD car in 20+ years so need to do some research on the LX cars in ice and snow since I'm in the Chicago area.
