Got pulled over today, blue grille lights did me in.:banghead:

I was crusin' round the local back streets of my neighborhood with my blue grille lights on. Came to a four-way stop and whadu'ya know, right across from me headed in the opposite direction, yeah you guessed it..."The Man."

My mamma didn't raise no idiot. I did have enough scense to put an LED indicator inside the car with remote on/off to let me know when my lights were on. And with the remote I could easily turn them off. Well upon seeing him across from me at the 4-way stop, I didn't even bother turning them off since he had already seen them. The first thing that went through my mind, "What kinda' mods could I have done with the cash I'm gonna have to pay for this ticket?" He turned out to be pretty cool about it though. Pulled up along side me facing the opposite direction, rolled down his window and began the usual law enforcement jargon with, "What's with the blue lights?" in a pretty stern tone. I've learned over the years that if you're gonna lie, be convincing. If you're gonna tell the truth, win them over. The conversation quickly turned for the better when I told him that I was dumping a bunch of money into the car doing custom modifications. He loved my car and wanted to see more. When I flipped my door UP, well let's just say, "that" won him over...NO TICKET...Whew, close call. Must of talked for about 10 mins or so after that before we both drove off into the night.
Moddin is "STILL" alive and well.

Lucky you. I've been ticketed before for "Unauthorized use of a blue light".

It was back when I was about 17 rolling around in my '94 Plymoth Acclaim. The back seat was covered in coffee stains (it'd been my dad's car prior), so I had it covered with a big thick blanket. A lot of my friends were girls that didn't have cars or driver's licenses, so I was on my way to a movie with 4 girls in the car, and since I thought I was some sort of pimp, I had a blue neon light glowing in the back window.

Officer asked me if I was a volunteer firefighter when he pulled me over (blue is their color, and red is for EMS, IIRC), and slapped me with a ticket when I said I wasn't. Didn't feel so much like a pimp at that moment.

Thats cool he gave you a break! I love cool cops like that, its they other ones the piss me off...heh.

I used to have red lights that flashed in my back window with the beat of the bass. Even had cops get next to me and just look at me dirty, but never got a ticket for em. Surprising cuz that was way back in high school...thinking about it now I prolly coulda been pulled over quite a bit more than I already was.

its amazing how when you look back at the crap you did back in high school and wonder how and the hell you didnt get pulled over more.

i had a lowered Nissan Kingcab, bright paint, dark windows, ghetto thump going on, neons, hydraulics, and some other really stupid crap.

bah, I'm compelled to make a confession here, when I was pulled over for that blue light up in my post (#2), I also had a set of blue Tire Flys on all 4 wheels.

Yeah, the're the little blinky lights that you put on bicycle tire stems for visibility at night. They flash when they're spun around, creating a streak of light effect around the wheel. And I had them on my car. Not only, in retrospect, was that completely lame, but I was totally asking for a ticket.

It's been 8 years since then. A little older, a little wiser.
