View Full Version : Can someone suggest a good overall tire to me?

On my large wheels I've been running the Wanli S-1089 style for about a year now. Recent developments have me in need of new tires and I'm wondering what people have found to work well.

My requirements are that they work great in wet weather (Wanlis don't), and that they have excellent traction in dry conditions (Wanlis do).
Also, they must be a 275/25/24

I have no prospects, no front runners, no favorites. They just have to meet the above criteria.

Thank you to those who post their suggestions!

I've never heard of those! I'll check the specs on 'em tonight.

I was always under the impression that although the size is correct, the tread pattern was designed for trucks?

I checked into those but they're closest size is 305/35 ZR 24 112 Y XL. Otherwise my search would be over!

I think I like the Nitto INVO.
Not the prettiest tire, LOL, but it seems to be everything I want in a tire.

Not sure what the tread life is like, but I'm really only looking to run 1 set of tires per season.

But isn't the Nero tread a truck tread?
It looks a little too aggressive............I dunno, maybe I'm wrong.

You are running 24's on the car and you are worried about what the tread looks like????

Looks? Naw! Have you seen the INVOs!? LOL
Just worried about grip in the turns and at takeoff, feel of the tires while I drive, wet weather performance and heavy braking grip. It may be an AWD Mag but grip is not guaranteed, especially with the wrong tires.

Yea I think it's a XL load rating meaning it can be used on trucks but most tires for our cars are like that since we need bigger than average tires. The Wanli's are XL load rating too. But when I went from 22s to 24s on my Charger, the 24s actually rode better.

That's what I've got now, Wanli S-1089. Rode them things all the way up to Minnesota and back a couple times. (400 miles each way)
They're great until it rains and your at speed on the highway. The are horrible at water dissipation. Have been since I bought 'em. If water was no factor I'd go with 'em again, but I live in Illinois. It's even gonna rain today and tomorrow! LOL
