View Full Version : Moulding Problems

So... I finally decided to pull off my moldings.

I got some dental floss, went outside, and got to pulling. I started on the passenger side door. The molding came off without much trouble, and I was delighted to find that there were no paint bubbles. Sweet! I pulled off the passenger side door and got it pretty cleaned up.

I decided to do things symmetrically, so I hopped over to the driver's side door and yanked that sucker off.

NOOOOOOOOO! The dreaded bubbles were there, mocking me.

So... the moldings have to go back on, for now at least.

Can anyone direct me to some good foam adhesive (or whatever sticky foam strips Dodge uses on these things)? Hopefully sooner than later since I need to be up at 4 AM and drive the car to work...

Anyone? I gotta stick these sonsabitches back on!

EDIT - Damn, well I got to chattin' with my neighbor and the dark snuck up on me.

I guess I'm gonna be parking at the back of the parking lot tomorrow; the Maggie looks a mess with half of the moldings off, glue all over the drivers side door and bubbly paint...

Gonna stop by Lowes on the way home from work tomorrow, they should be able to point me towards the right stuff.

I got bubbles on both fron doors-more noticeable on driver's side. I figure- oh well WTF! I like the no moulding look better. I know a guy who I will have paint it eventually for pretty cheap.

It's crazy... passenger side, nada. Smooth as can be. Driver's side, looks like a disaster. Pisses me off.
