Hello everyone, well after an exhausting search here on LXF i have made a decision to go with 275/40-20 Toyo Proxes-4 on all corners. Thank God for the 'search' button ;) my F1s lasted about 14k miles on the rears and the fronts outer edges are gone with still a lot of meat in the middle. Since i will no longer be staggered i can rotate! I will post my review after install which will hopefully be in a day or two.

good call on the tires. when you put them on make sure you get a good alignment. your fronts should not wear out like that unless something has shifted or worn out.

that may be record mileage for F1's!

X2 on the alignment.

i ran my factory F1's till 33,000 miles only coming off for a few snow storms. multiple burnouts and track passes were made including the final road course rental that exposed some of the metal in the tread. With the right alignment they can go for a long while.

wow, i did *1* burnout about 4 months ago and my rears hit the indicator about 1 month ago (13000 miles) ... i wish mine lasted even to 20. i rotated front to back when the indicator hit last month until i got my bonus check which was monday ;)

Typically, outer edge wear on both sides of a single tire is caused by under inflation.

Still align vehicle just in case!

Usually outer edge wear with tread still good in middle is under inflation, and center tread wear with good tread on outer is over inflation.

I've been looking at the same tires, toyo's in 275 all the way around. I also have a ware problem but only on the front left tire and its only the outside edge. I checked my air pressure, its fine. Im not sure if my issue is an alignment problem or bad tire. It drives straight with no shake. Toyo's seem to be the popular choice around here, I cant wait to see your review!

Decent tires, although I liked the T1R's a lot better. Bit of a price difference though. Definately get an alignment as others mentioned. Tread wear on only one edge could be a camber issue as well but would likely be noticable by eye if it is the outside edge.

I actually would prefer the T1R's but they dont make them in the right size for 20 inch rims. I wana have one tire size alll the way around, the closest they have is 275/35/20 which is a little short i think. Maybe someone else knows differently?

I just did Proxes4 255/45/20 all around ... they don't seem to be QUITE as sticky as the F1s, but I guess that's the tradeoff if you want to get more than 15K miles out of them. They're still darn good.

How do these compare to the pirelli pzero's? Similar tire for a better price? The new camaro has some pretty impressive numbers in the recent write ups. I'd love to see how the new challenger would do with a set heads up. Probably not as fast but I'm sure the gap would close a little bit compared to the crap stock tires the new challegers are coming with.

does anyone know of an equivant tire to the T1R that comes in our size for the SRT8. I want something as good as or better than the stock staggered F1s.

I have that exact tire and size on my MSRT, put just over 20K mi on them and still have about 50% tread. Great tire IMO.

Any update?

Glad you asked. no update!!! :)

Tires are still sitting in the corner, still riding on old ones.
Maybe another week?

Ok, finally on and i love the look! I can't tell you if they are any better/worse than the F1 supercars but i can tell you that as soon as they were installed, i put the pedal to the metal and they spun (just like the F1s)!

pics are not that good but they look 10x better in person. Lots of meat on them too!

I have the exact same tires and my front tires look like brand new with just over 7k on them. The rears, on the other hand, look like they have 40k on them :)

Sorry for replying sooo late!

price them around and you will see for about the same money you can get the 275/40s

otherwise you can go 245/45-20 all the way around...
