Ok boys and girls; My neighbour has and is employed at a GM dealer in Canada for over 20 years. He informed me of the 1st 2010 Camaro came in, ordered in, V-6, 304 hp., he checked it over, found the rear fascia off with the body panels, confronted the tech. about the PDI. about GM'S quality during PDI'S, no response, the car goes for 38 grand plus, the V-8,6.2 litre, there are 2 versions of the 6.2, start at 54 grand up to 6o grand, NOW WHO IS GOING TO TELL ME THAT A R/T OR A SRT8 IS NOT WORTH IT!!!!!:):thumbs_u::rock::not_worth Oh by the way, GM has closed 200 + dealers, and I am sure there are more to follow

I would not buy a car from the government period. GM just like Chrysler will be government owned.

Take a big ole pass on that BS

The V6 models sell in Edmonton from 32ish to 38ish for the fully decked model, as for the SS I saw one the other day with a full load for 47, so whomever told you they want close to 60 grand is riping someone off lol

Their MSRP is around 36K for a fully loaded SS, and in 6 months after all they guys that have to have it do, the price will fall fast. But everyone has to admit at 36K its a HELL of a deal.

Yeah my friend lined one here in Canada for 45k fully loaded SS so i thought that was well priced
But the worst part about owning a Camaro or Mustang is calling your father and explaining to him that you are Gay hahahahahahah
Too each thier own i guess

Nice 'SuperB' Robert, we have to admit Chryco has come up with some good looking units over the years, beans to the designers. Cal

why do people continue to think that the "gov't" owns Chrysler? They don't, and they as of now don't have a controlling stake, nor have expressed interest in it, so why do people keep assuming this?

I'm guessing they read it on some website, it seems like that's how all kinds of "whoppers" originate. The interior on the Camaro is amazingly bad, in person I think it's worse than in the pics. I saw my first one close up parked at a local restaurant, and the windows were down, so I got a nice look at it. That steering wheel is pitiful. And people complain about the interiors of our cars?

Wow, another Camaro bashing thread. I think we should just consolidate them all. Or the next time someone wants to start yet another thread putting down the Camaro, use the search function and post there.

IMHO the Camaro looks better than the Challenger, seems to be quicker as well and it is priced a little lower. If I wasn't so upside down on my Mag and just bought my first home i think i would have traded her in. You all have your opinions and I have mine.

im with you 100%. Everyone has their opinion on it but i think its well worth the money. Not to mention the LSX platform has tons of upgrades at great prices to boot. Ohh and a 6 speed....

^^^Well, it is a Chrysler forum, surely you don't expect a lot of threads of praise for it.

I've seen two recently. I think they suck. I'd rather have a G8 if I had to get a GM car.

Probably because the Bush administration gave them a loan without any collateral. They think that the company is in the government's pocket.

No, the government does not own Chrysler, but people are bitter that Chrysler just defaulted on a government loan worth billions of taxpayer dollars. And there's nothing the government can do about it, in the same way that a bank can't really do anything about a loan after someone declares bankruptcy.

Priced out a new Camaro SS and with what I wanted was about 38 grand. Haven't seen one up close and personal but the dealer called and they got theirs in. They have 1 allocation left if I want to order. Going to take a peak at it. I love the looks of it but not sure if I want to give up the Mag. If I were to get the V6 I'd keep it. The G8 has my attention too. My son turns 16 this fall, he votes for the Camaro.

Don't get me wrong, I think the Challenger looks great, I just think the Camaro is overall better. Magnum Lover, i say go with the 6. Has over 300hp and you can keep the Mag. That would be liek the best of both worlds. lol

Here comes the 3.5 boys to the Camaro's rescue. I'll say it again: Sell your LX and go buy a Camaro, join the Camaro forum and live happily ever after.
FWIW....I love earlier model Camaros. I hate the 09s. It looks like a diecast "Hot Wheels".

my 2 cents

Seriously, what does me having a 3.5 have to do with anything? That is the second time you post the same crap trying to single out the V6 drivers.

It's like me saying: Here come the SRT8 boys who are jealous and too afraid to admit that the Camaro is a better overall car than theirs.

Come up with a new routine.

that part i do understand, but i know they said they probably won't pay it back, but they still may? i mean Iacocca did it, less likely this time but who knows what will ultimately happen, none of us do. We will just like everyone else have to wait and see how it all pans out.

What it has to do with is you own a 3.5 and everytime there's mention of a Camaro, you have to get a towel and clean up your keyboard. Maybe if you would have bought an R/T or SRT you would be as happy as I am and could give 2 chits about the Camaro.

Dude, I'm not a hater, I happen to love Camaros. (older ones) I just get sick of seeing the Camaro cheerleading squad do carwheels everytime a thread pops up with "Camaro" in it. This is an LX forum. You don't see guys spooging over LXs on the other forums.(Even though they want to)!

Actually, on my budget if I were to get a Camaro I'd probably get the V6 as well. It's not so much the power it has but just the looks and everything. So it really has nothing to do with having a 3.5. It's just a bad-ass looking ride.

I'll agree with you on that. That's a stout V-6 they're putting in it.

Oh get over yourself tough guy.

They are both cool cars and it will be fun to have some big american v8 competition.

If you dont like it, fine we get it. But there are plenty of people out there who think 4 door chargers just like yours are a bastardization of the name. How would you like to hear them bitch and moan about Your car all day long? :blam:

I like the Challenger more cuz it feels like a mix between a coupe and a sedan. I sat in a Camaro and it felt claustrophobic.

I dare someone to put the Firebird on one. Even though that was originally on a... Firebird.

And how can a government be loaning anyone anything when they're in such deep debt to the Fed anyway? Never got that. If I owe Jimmy 20 bucks, and Tommy asks me for 1000, when Jimmy is standing right there, you can bet he's going to have something to say about it. That ain't politics, it's economics. :)

I just read in the latest Road & Track that the SS starts at about $33k MSRP. Any higher price then that right now is just a dealer premium. I guess they should charge it if they think they can get it!

Outside, I think the Camaro looks fantastic- I would love to own one as a second car-just like a new Mustang. What i loathe is the weird instrumentation. That setup with the "pods" seems so bizarre to me.

Overall though, im impressed with the Camaro-and as mentioned that V6 is sweet. I bet next years Chrysler V6s will get a power boost to match :)

Saw one today, wasn't sure if it was a 1SS or 2SS, but it had RS emblems and sounded nice. Black and beautiful. First one I've seen in my area.

I like the exterior, cant get past the butt ugly and cheap GM typical interior looks like it belongs in a mini van.

I have seen 2 so far not a bad looking car for a GM.

I see on all there forums they compare there Camaro to the Chally and skip right over the Charger, a few owners are going to be in for a rude awakening when they try to run the wrong one and dont do as well as they thought they were going to.
